Old Historic Harriman Hospital
About the Business
Old Historic Harriman Hospital is a historic institution located at 401 North Roane Street in Harriman, Tennessee. Spanning 183,000 square feet, this hospital holds a rich history dating back to its founding in 1889 as a Temperance Town by prohibitionists seeking to create a community free from vice. Over the years, the hospital expanded to meet the growing needs of the community, adding new wings and state-of-the-art facilities.
One of the most legendary areas within the hospital is A3, which served as the ICU and cardiac care unit. Reports of a nurse named Joanna, who passed away unexpectedly, still making her rounds and overseeing patients have added to the hospital's mystique. With the addition of a new 4-story wing in the early 90s, the hospital continued to evolve and provide top-notch medical care to its patients.
After sitting vacant for several years, the hospital was purchased in 2022 by a group dedicated to preserving its historic significance and conducting paranormal investigations. Now known as Old Historic Harriman Hospital, the institution offers daytime tours by appointment, providing visitors with a glimpse into its past and the chance to explore its eerie reputation.
Visitors are welcome to capture unedited video evidence for private use, but must adhere to guidelines set forth by the hospital management. Live broadcasts are permitted with consent, but any content involving negative or demonic entities is strictly prohibited. Guests must follow rules regarding property damage, cleanliness, and respectful conduct during their visit.
For those interested in overnight investigations, accommodations are not provided, and alcohol or drugs are strictly forbidden on the premises. With its fascinating history and paranormal intrigue, Old Historic Harriman Hospital offers a unique experience for those looking to delve into the past and explore the supernatural.

"We had a team go for a ghost hunt. The activity that happened during the investigation, the evidence caught on video and recordings, was beyond exciting. This location has moved to the top of my list. I can not wait to go back to investigate again."
"10/10 NightSong Paranormal hosted some friends on 10/28/2023. It was our first time at Harriman and it did not disappoint. It's a very active location with lots of space to explore. You will hear, see, and feel things everywhere. We kept being drawn to the cardiac floor in the old building (Johanna's area). That's where we had the most intense activity. The hospital is is good hands and they have really done a great job keeping it in great shape and safe for paranormal research. Thanks to Ronnie's staff: Renee, Sherry, Tim, and Jeff for taking such good care of us that night! We most definitely look forward to our return!"
"Such great people! Had the best of time. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Def gonna come back sometime in the future."
"My group has been here twice so far. Awesome people and amazing location. If you are looking for a place to research and study the paranormal then go ahead and book your time. We will be coming back soon. Both times we were shocked and thrilled with the material we caught on video and audio. Highly recommend this location. This owner also has OSPH as well. Another great place to investigate."
"My wife and I are newbies in paranormal investigation. OHHH was only our second venture. To say we were impressed would be an overstatement. Were we scared at any moment? No. What did we witness? Mists? No. Solids? No. Shadows? No. The group we were with had all the gadgets, and they all sounded at some point during the night. There was electronic evidence that something was there besides us. The cat balls, the rem pods, etc. - everything activated. We were in some of the hotspots - ER, the cardiac unit, the green room, but we never visually saw anything. We had stick figure interaction, but the "spirits" had little interest in talking to us. We have watched "Destination Fear" and have decided they play more on drama than reality because their televised experiences were not duplicated during our visit. The staff was awesome in their knowledge of the facility and courteous in every way and did everything they could to help us have a paranormal experience. I do believe in the paranormal having had personal experiences. I am not convinced in the active paradigm of the OHHH. We were there for 8 hours on April 1. If you are seeking a beginners introduction, this may be the place for you."
