"LONG STORY SHORT: They will tell you that your insurance does not cover your treatment, when actually, your insurance does indeed cover it. LONG STORY LONG: There were two treatments that this dentist said that I needed, and this employee named Kelly told me that my insurance did not cover the services I needed. Which I later found out was untrue. I was shocked, but I had no other choice but to get the treatment done because my gums were infected. So I paid $1,000 out of pocket to get this service done. That's a pretty significant expense for most people. Kelly even offered me a "payment plan" where I could get a loan and then pay off this treatment monthly. She gave off major saleswoman vibes and it made me very suspicious. I later called my insurance and told them what happened. They were surprised because they said that the service I needed is indeed covered, as long as I get it pre-authorized by them first. My insurance proceeded to tell me that it was my dentist's responsibility to explain to me that I needed this pre-authorization first in order to get it covered, especially because this dentist is contracted with my insurance plan. But no, Kelly felt it was more important to take the time to explain to me how I could start a payment plan to slowly pay off this costly service out of my own pocket. Why do I think she did this? According to my insurance agent, this dental office is contracted with my insurance plan, but the "specialist" that performed my specific treatment was not contracted with my insurance plan. So I highly believe that they wanted me to pay out of pocket so that this specialist could get his money, and who knows what cut Kelly and these other guys are getting. That's just my educated guess. Why else would she lie and work so hard to get me to pay out of my pocket? I'm very glad I called my insurance afterwards to get the facts. I have a very low tier insurance plan, and I'm appalled that this dental office would go after people who make very little money like me to pay for expensive services out of their own pocket. MY ADVICE: Any time the dentist tells you that your insurance does not cover something, call your insurance first (or afterwards), and ask if they do in fact cover the treatment. In most cases, they do but you just have to get it pre-authorized by them first."
"Wow!$14,000 job got same service?I thought just because of my cheap Medicaid insurance.......Any happy ending story? It is Holiday season please! One more star for the Vegas casino style blue sky ceiling in waiting room."
"With a review you gave to give at lest one star, even if they do not deserve one. My friend paid over $14,000 for upper bridges. The right side fell out three times. Dr. Ginzburg never put them back, it was always a tec. Now my friend is in the valley and had to paid close to $300 to put the right side back. Now tomorrow I am taking him to a dentist in the valley because his left bridge has fallen out. Go anywhere but the LA Dental Group"
"What ever u do don’t go here. They like to charge people for work that wasn’t done. Didn’t call to say I was billed! Something isn’t right.. sounds like fraud and I will be calling the better business bureau. Maxed out my Benefits for the year and didn’t get any work done at all!"
"I’ve had 4 or 5 appointments at this dental office for a cleaning and cavities. Besides the actual dentist who worked on me, it seems like amateur hour. The dental assistant sprayed water in my face multiple times during two different appointments, for one appointment they were running late by an hour with no warning or time estimate on how long I would have to wait, they never told me when different procedures were approved by my insurance until I asked multiple times, you get the picture. I had an appointment today for a deep cleaning I scheduled over 2 weeks ago and they called me 4 hours ahead to tell me because I didn’t confirm the appointment, they had canceled me and scheduled someone else. They told me they called and left a message, neither of which were true. Then when I called them out on it, they told me it was my responsibility to call in and confirm my appointment!!! Even if they didn’t call me. I scheduled the appointment around my work schedule. They have now lost my business and I recommend you schedule your appointments somewhere they are honored. They probably just wanted to leave early today. So unprofessional."
