"THE BEST HAIR SALON!!! They are EXCEPTIONAL!! TALENTED!!! AMAZING ❤️"
"I went to Malibu Oasis for my bridal hair and makeup, and they did a great job! My mom, mother in law, and sister all liked their hairstyling too. All of the salon staff were so welcoming and friendly, and made us feel very comfortable on my special day. They were also really accommodating and helped to work with me to make sure I was happy with the outcome."
"This is the WORST service I have ever received. They took advantage of my daughter and charged her $450 for a cut and partial highlight. They verbally told my daughter $250, but ran it through as $450. On top of this my daughter tipped the stylist $50 to her venmo account. When I called to complain, I was passed to owner - who didn't return the call. I called again - they gave me $60 - I argued and they hung up on me. HORRIBLE!!!!!"
"Stay away from here!! Was in town on business, stopped by here for a quick haircut. Wow won’t be doing that again. My stylist was the apparent owner of the salon. Very pushy and one of the worst haircuts I’ve had in quite some time. She kept trying to joke that my current haircut was very “Supercuts”, and once I experience hers I will travel from wherever i’am from to see her again. That will not be the case. The back was clearly left A lot longer than the sides but in her opinion it’s because I’m not used to a great haircut. $60 for a cut worse than Supercuts that’s for sure!"
"I'm not in the business of leaving bad reviews unless I really feel it is necessary. I am a college student who is not in a position to be taking big financial decisions lightly, which is why this experience impacted me so much. I went into Malibu Oasis Salon on a Saturday for a perm. Over the phone they told me the starting price was $150. That's already a stretch for me but I was under a time crunch and this salon was the only one near me that does perms. I go in at 11am and see Nina. After 3.5 hours my hair has been "permed" and while I asked for a spiral perm, I was left with very loose, wavy hair. I then go up to pay and they say my total is $300. Woah. I asked what made the price jump up so much and they said it is because I have long hair and it took her 3.5 hours to do my hair. Okay... I have never ever heard of a salon charging perms by the hour at around $100/hr because that would not have made the starting price $150 because perms are known to take anywhere from 3-5 hours on average. But I paid and thought the curls would tighten up after being washed in 2 days. 2 days go by without washing, brushing, ponytails, none of it, and my hair is getting straighter. I washed it and yeah it curled back up a little but by the end of the day it was straight again. I went back to the salon on Tuesday hoping for a refund. I spoke to the boss and she told me that she would not give me a refund without me speaking to my stylist first, who wouldn't be in until Thursday. So I came back Thursday. When I came back in, my hair was in limp waves after I had just washed it again that morning. Nina insisted on washing my hair again and put two handfuls of mousse in and made it look nice and took pictures of it like that. I told her that the problem was that after an hour or so it would be straight again. They tried to send me away and that they would call me after they showed the boss the pictures she took, which made no sense because the pictures she took were of my hair freshly washed and styled and not what I came in complaining about, which was that in an hour those nice curls would be gone. The boss came back about 10 minutes later and they started arguing with me. They accused me of brushing out my hair, of not taking care of it properly (mind you, this was not my first perm and I know how to take care of them), and they even went so far as to guilt me for taking up 4 hours of Nina's time on Saturday. The boss said "She could have made $1000 on Saturday but she spent 4 hours doing YOUR hair" and they ganged up on me saying that it is impossible to make my hair as curly as I wanted it (which is also not true since I have gotten a successful perm before). They told me Nina would have to pay out of pocket for me to get my money back and it was clear she would not be doing that. They did not care at all that my hair was damaged or that I was unhappy with the result. The customer service was absolutely deplorable and I have never in my life been made to feel less cared about than I did in that salon. When they found out I attended the local college they gave me a 25% discount but only because that is what the policy says about college students. So now I am out $225 for damaged hair that cannot retain a curl. Not to mention you're not supposed to use hot tools on a perm so now I can't even get curls with a curling iron. I cannot encourage people enough to not go to this salon unless you're perfectly fine paying an exorbitant amount of money to people who dont care about whether you are happy with your results."
