"Our experience was from February 2015 but Dr. Patterson was amazing. Our son came down with Kawasaki Disease. There are so many things that have similar symptoms and she was on a strict timeline for treatment. She tested for everything before treating him for Kawasaki's as the treatment also has risks associated with it. I'm so thankful for her expertise and quick decision making as our son has no lasting effects from the disease. He was treated in time and that's after seeing our Pediatrician every day that week and being sent home from East Tennessee Children's emergency room once before. It was difficult but thankfully I was a persistent Mommy and kept taking him back. Mothers know when somethings not right and I couldn't bare to see my son so sick any longer. It was a rough Valentines Day that year and it's tough to be patient while your child is sick and the Dr is trying to rule everything out. I'm glad Dr. Patterson was so thorough with his care. Had she hesitated in treating him he may have had heart problems for the rest of his life."
"This was my son's second visit to Dr. Patterson. I am extremely disappointed with this dr. I have never been so moved to write a review on anything before. The first visit was fine a year ago.She was thorough. This visit, she was 40 minutes late ( I know this because I saw her walk in) and called us back 2 minutes after entering the office. She then said to me " I don't know why you are here". My 6 year old has been battling MRSA for a year and a half and it is not going away. As a mother, this is never something you want a dr. to tell you right away. I felt totally brushed off and she told me that she stated at the last appointment a year prior that this was going to happen. She recommended I try a netti pot for my son as a last effort to help. What 6 year old is going to let me do that to them??As a parent I feel like a little compassion can go a long way and we did not receive that at this appointment. I have a wonderful pediatrician who is spending extra time looking at trials trying to figure out a way to try to alleviate the MRSA. I would never recommend this dr. to anyone. I think Knoxville being a smaller city, the resources are limiting. I would and if I need to, will, find a better facility to help my child. I was completely open to any advice and as an infectious disease dr. she had no other ideas.. It wasted my sons time from school, my time and $ for someone top speak they way they did, is incorrigible. LOOK ELSEWHERE."
