"I was asked by the owners for help to design the clubhouse and offices of this apartment complex. They were in a huge hurry as they were way behind in getting the apartments rented. This was last November. I was in the peak of my busy Christmas design season, but wanted to help them out since they were in such panic about getting this design completed and apartments rented. I spent 1 1/2 hours in a consultation and over 4 hours designing and choosing pieces that were in stock and could be shipped quickly. Then Priscilla Cruz-Nichipor, one of the investors decided she wanted to add more rooms to the design, and tweak what the original person that called me wanted done. Another 1 1/2 of consultations and 2 more hours of design. Priscilla Cruz-Nichipor, was invoiced for my services, and will not return my calls or email. She has all of my design ideas, and mood boards. Needless to say, I would be beyond leery of leasing an apartment from The Crossings at Hazelwood. Honesty is not their policy."
"I had a bad experience with them at their other apartment complex but after they recognized what happened and saw my situation they gave me a new apartment at this location and I could never be happier! I have a bigger room and everything works in this apartment! I have been with these apartments for a few years and they really do care about their clients."
"This rating is strictly for the original staff and complex. The entire staff here is pretty lazy with a bad attitude. I’ve had problems involving payment failure fees even when the bank confirmed it wasn’t my fault, it was the complex. Despite this, they still charged me the fees and refused to remove them. The repair man especially has a bad attitude and slacks on work orders: there are stairs broken across the complex, plumbing issues, our air filter wasn’t changed for over a year, etc. For one week, they had a man from Boston named Roger who filled in and he had a great attitude and fixed more in a week than the other repair man did in a year. Shout out Roger 5/5"
"If I can rate zero stars, I would. This place has been nothing, but headaches for me. When I first moved in the apartment was in awful condition, because the roommate I was paired with wasn't the cleanest. Then they tricked me into signing two leases one for 3 months and another for 1 year. I told them I wanted to try it for 3 months to see if I liked it and they said I had to sign the second to stay for the first 3 months. You are better off paying an extra $150 and getting a full apartment across the street at Birchwood, without roommates all utilities included. Also, SQ Hazelwood will charge you for anything once you leave. Not to mention they gave me a parking permit that expired one month after I moved in, and then had my car towed which I had to pay $250 to get it back. Also I had the apartment cleaned before I moved out and they charged me over $350 for cleaning fee. Also maintenance comes when they feel like it. I notice they for sure write their own 5 star reviews, it's renting season so they want to look their best. There's a saying you get what you pay for. I paid roughly $677 a month utilities included. It's not a bad price, but not worth the headaches, and hidden fees they slap you with. Save your money and time, look elsewhere."
"I have now lived here for a couple years, and the reason is solely 1) the rent is one of the most affordable for college students and 2) their leases are practically impossible to get out of. For the most part, the place itself isn’t terrible. The amenities are average and the maintenance does their part. Basically, you get what you pay for. The small complex is close to campus and I’ve never felt unsafe. Every thing is fine until you run into a problem. If you have a pet that doesn’t get along with others, they will ask, but they won’t oblige by not giving you a roommate with a pet. If a space is open, they are going to rent which I get, but also I don’t get, because why even ask at the beginning if when it comes down to it you don’t care??? They should have just been upfront about this at the beginning. It leaves for a difficult living situation when they don’t take our pet and even our own safety into consideration. Also, their random roommate system is a joke. If you have an empty space in your unit, and they have a random new leaser, guess what? You get a random roommate that in fact does not “match” you whatsoever (again what’s the point in asking??). The office staff used to be the best. When I signed there was a leasing consultant, Leia, who even gave me her number to reach out to her personally for problems. After she left, I felt like any time I ran into a problem I was left unheard. I had renewed my lease right before a huge problem occurred in my unit last year with a new roommate (who moved in in the middle of the year— which is what I was referencing when I said they don’t care about matching). They pester you about renewing early because of the cheaper prices, but then once you sign you are doomed. This roommate problem arose BEFORE my new lease began, and I became MISERABLE living here because of it. Due to the whole mess, I just wanted to move out of this apartment, but I had just renewed a few weeks prior. I went to the office staff, but it is near impossible to break a lease here and they had no remorse on the situation that had just occurred. So I was/am stuck here, but will finally move out in July (a year later). All I am saying is go into moving here knowing it’s hard to break a lease, and dealing with the office is more of a headache than anything. If you don't run into any problems, you should be fine, but if you do, good luck! ~Side note: after reading many other reviews, I’m starting to believe the office writes their own reviews?? There are many on here that all date “a week ago” and practically all say the same thing. Probably cause it’s renting season and they are on the prowl. Don’t be easily deceived."
