Reviews of Primp Salon Lafayette
"I have been going to Primp for a couple of years. It’s a great atmosphere. It’s a small salon and all the hairdressers are friends and so kind. They do a great job with color, products, cut and blow dries."
"I waited a long time to write my review because I like to support local businesses, especially given current circumstances, but there were a lot of problems with my experience that, even months later, still bother me. First, I truly appreciated that they took me in at the last minute. My hair had grown out really long and had become unmanageable and I was really overwhelmed with trying to brush it every day. It was so nice to get rid of the weight. For that alone, I really wish I could give them 5 stars. I tried to tell my hairdresser I didn't know much about hair, but I could tell that the texture had changed with each pregnancy. Instead of being stick-straight, it had developed a lot of frizz and was harder to tame, and I was honestly hoping for some advice about how to care for it, how to embrace the new texture, and what products might help with that. She had super curly hair and I think that's why she kind of laughed me off. My question was ignored. Tamara (Tara? Tamra?) must've had a really bad day. I get it. I tried to steer our conversation in all kinds of directions to avoid ruffling her feathers, but she seemed to have a lot of issues with politics and religions. Super awkward. I don't mind having these discussions, but I really hate it when people start bashing other religions since I know how it feels when it's done to me. I wish it had only been those topics that made her upset, because we all have our hot buttons with those issues, but every. single, topic of conversation I tried to shift toward seemed to make her upset and cause her to rant. It was exhausting. More importantly, I was a little disappointed in my haircut. For the price (which was more than other salons I called), I expected it to look a lot nicer. It was not a bad haircut, but it was not a nice haircut either."
"I am not sure about their honesty, with what they can do. I called twice for the availability of a particular product, and the owner assured me they had it and would hold it for me, to pick up within 24 hours. I drove one hour to be able to pick up my product, just to be told by the owner that she does not carry the product for awhile now, but she would like to recommend some other products she carry. What upset me was that she was deceiving and dishonest about what she had in order to get me into her salon. I specifically phoned twice before my I drove, just to make sure she had the product saved for me. She assured me twice, and said she did carry it and would hold it, agreeing that it was a really good product, and popular. She should have just been honest."
"Just had my first experience at Primp Salon. It was awesome! Tara gave me a badly needed haircut. She was darling and fantastic and talented! I highly recommend her and I will definitely be her most loyal customer! She's the best!"
"Diana is the best and I've been looking for quite awhile. Primp is a small salon, six chairs, peaceful with quality products. Diana listens! Is skilled and doesn't over sell her ideas and suggestions. You walk out knowing your hair is happy, healthy and this new hair can be styled by you at home!"
