Reviews of Piedmont Oaks Dental
"Our family had a good experience with them for the few first appointments, but Piedmont Oaks Dental quickly decided to leave our Humana insurance network shortly after we became new patients. The front desk staff encouraged us to pay out of pocket because they were confident that our insurance would reimburse it, which I confirmed with our insurer is absolutely not at all how our dental plan works. I did not appreciate them surprising us by dropping our insurance and then asking us to pay out of pocket instead, especially considering that they assumed it would be reimbursable when my insurer confirmed that it wouldn’t be. If I had trusted the staff instead of calling Humana, I would have been screwed out of a few hundred dollars. I can’t imagine why they would leave the Humana network considering that they’re one of the largest dental insurance providers in the US and one of the primary insurers for veterans and their families. I would love to come back to Piedmont Oaks Dental if they would accept our insurance again, but I am not going to pay out of pocket for services that are already covered through our insurance and I am definitely not subscribing to their membership plan instead of using the military benefits I have have already earned after serving for ten years."
"This is the best dentist experience I’ve ever had! I always dreaded going to the dentist growing up, but ever since I started going here like 5-6 years ago, I love getting my teeth cleaned lol. All the staff members are so nice, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and willing to go out of their way to give a good experience :) Even when they weren’t covered by my insurance anymore, I still decided I wanted to continue going to them for my dental needs, that’s how great they are."
"I enjoyed my experiences here in terms of the dental work but unfortunately the way they lost my trust with their handling of an insurance change means I can’t recommend them. I received an email a few weeks ago informing me that they no longer accepted Blue Cross dental insurance. Seeing as I have Blue Shield, I assumed I was in the clear. (I used to have Blue Cross through an old job and the used a different website, claims process, etc). I went in for a cleaning last week and wasn’t given a heads up ahead of time that the insurance had changed, they just checked me in as normal. It was only after the appointment when they asked for my card that I suspected something was up. I asked why they weren’t billing my insurance directly and they just said that I would be billed and my insurance would reimburse me. No mention of going out of network, and no suggestion that the reimbursement might be partial. It was only when I checked my insurance website later that day that I realized that they’d gone out of network. I guess I’m just supposed to know that dropping Blue Cross means also dropping Blue Shield? Come on, you clearly care about creating a good experience for patients, so I’m sure you can see why it’s such a bad experience to only be informed by a misleading email and have your front desk staff process payments without fully explaining what’s going on, and expecting your patients to be familiar with the corporate/regulatory structure of health insurance companies is a poor excuse. I like all the people I interacted with at the office but this kind of failure across the board towards patients with consequences in the hundreds or thousands of dollars indicates that there’s an issue somewhere with organization culture. Hoping to find a new dentist that wouldn’t pull a bait-and-switch like this."
"Literally the best dentist I’ve ever been to in all my 41 years. From the incredible empathy delivered immediately from front desk with Carlos and team to the hygienist and care under Dr. Guerisoli, I’ve never felt more like VIP than I have in their office. Their attention to details when considering aesthetics and creating a cozy environment to how they care for you and every detail of your experience. They went above and beyond for me after a very negative experience at the dental office next door. What may have deterred me from ever seeing a dentist again, the team at a Piedmont Oak Dental changed my mind. I cannot say enough nice things. I’d give them 10 stars if I could."
"Every time I attend Piedmont oaks dental I always have an amazing experience! They truly care about their patients, they work with you financially, and they're also lgbtqa+ inclusive which as a trans individual means so much to me. It's a clean beautiful environment where dentists and staff are very positive and kind. They always let you what's happening next or every step of what they need to do for you and they're very gentle if you have sensitivities. Overall I highly recommend this amazing place to everyone you won't be disappointed."
