"I recently had a hair appointment where I specifically requested a silk press and a trim. However, the stylist ended up giving me a haircut instead of a trim, and what's worse, the back of my hair was cut extremely short, resulting in an uneven haircut. Please pay more attention to customers' requests and know the difference between a trim and hair cut!"

"Been here twice within 7 years. Still walked away with the same negative experience. I can't speak for all the employees here. But the ones I had to interact with: aren't welcoming, don't respect your time when you make an appointment, don't provide updates or communicate if they're not going to see you at your appointment time when they haven't finished with a prior client, cut you off when you're talking, don't ask to touch your hair - just start grabbing on it. Needless to say I left. In my experience, TRYING to get my hair done here was a waste of my own time. I thought over the years, some of the staff's treatment of customers would've improved somewhat."

"*UPDATE...New Review* ☹️ ( You can view the picture on Yelp ) I went to moods beauty bar on may 22,2021 for a 12:30 appointment to get a trim for my fro. Lawanna did it and it was bad. it's uneven and scraggly as you can see by the picture. the back looks the same way where I had a tuff of hair at the nape of my neck that grew out longer than other areas in the back and she didn't even it out, or even ask me if I wanted it evened out.( And yes I did want it evened out). she did not give me a lineup either. That was my second visit to moods beauty bar and the first visit was a great experience.Lawanna did it. I got a precision cut it with a precision lineup.It looked very professional and sharp. I did not get the shampoo because I just asked her very the phone when I scheduled my appointment if I can just have the cut when I called in back in November 2020 and Lawanna said yes. the shampoo lady it's very heavy-handed where I literally had to tell her to ease up. the chair sits very low at the shampoo sink where you have to strain to keep your head in the sink. they need to get higher chairs. Im going to another beauty shop or call krispy.com mobile hair cutters to fix this bad cut. ***************************************** november 4 2020 @ 1:00p I got a professional cut from ___(I didnt even ask her name. I will update this review to include her name). she was friendly and the cut is precision. she was on time which I loved. my hair needed an all over 'evening out' to my fro, but a little shorter on the sides hehe. she did a great job. I highly recommend this shop in the center of downtown,very convenient to bart 14th st too."

"The OWNERs did my hair. I mean, what an experience. Super professional demeanor and she listened to what I said initially over the phone. Made me feel real comfortable. Decorum was EXCELLENT. Like Beverly Hills Status! She was knowledgeable with hair maintenance and products to use or not use. First time I let a stylist trim my hair, EVER. GOD said Trust Her. Shine, body, bounce, and a new attitude was what I left the shop with. Pricing is reasonable and this salon is worth every penny. No ghetto vibes in this shop... Just educated black entrepreneurs handling their business. My hair looked like a fresh weave but it was all mines. Thank you all for being on top of your game.
