Whispering Oaks Apartments

"I moved here in august did everything in a timely manner that they needed from me. However they do not do things in a timely manner. I do know that these problems are not with the office staff, most of it has to do with corporate which probably isn’t even in this state. But I have not been able to use my oven since I moved in, and now the stove top isn’t working. So I need a new oven TODAY! I have 3 kids to feed and only $1.78 to my name so I can not go and buy them food I need to use the food I have! Somebody did come look at the oven once but he told me all he was going to do was unplug it and plug it back in. It didn’t fix it! My bathtub I have to use pliers to change it from shower to bath. I can’t turn the light on in the dining room or I’m afraid it will catch on fire. And as of two days ago I can no longer flush the toilet because the metal part to the handle rusted and broke in half! The handle to the toilet is $10 on Amazon, but I was told they have to get it approved by corporate, well guess what I’ve had service request since September. My stuff needs to be fixed TODAY, and then I will gladly delete or update this review with a nice review! If you guys want to have good tenants then you need to take better care of your place. Nobody has done the weekly inspection that was supposed to start a while ago."

"My boyfriend lives there. Since he's been there they have changed management I know about two times. His refrigerator door won't close unless he puts a trash can in front of it. They have bugs, the eye on his stove doesn't work. This has been going on for about six months. He has told them about the problem. They have not fixed it."

"I’ve lived at Whispering Oaks for over 2 years and am about to move to a new state. I’ve mostly had a good experience living here, though I also admit I’m very low maintenance overall. I lived in a single bedroom apartment with just my dog as a roomie. In our time we’ve had to make maintenance calls for AC, heating, and oven parts being replaced. These were fixed in a timely manner. I do have to admit a new management team took over about a year ago and I haven’t interacted with them much, though. Most of these aforementioned maintenance calls were with the old team. I did have a pretty good relationship with the management team that came before, though. I also am good with empathizing with people in this line of work as I’ve worked for a management team of a retirement community apartments and understand complaints are always coming your way in their line of work. I can’t say anything positive or negative of the new management team, but I know when taking over a facility this large it’s going to be a while before you get in the flow of how to handle all the challenges coming your way and it takes time to build new relationships with the current community. I wish them well. The apartment complex is far from perfect, but for the price and location it feels about right to me. As always, I suggest doing your own research and investigating and move from there, but my experience these past 2+ years have been vast majority positive."

"WHISPERING ROACHES this place should be called. The common areas are dirty, smell like trash, and the homeless are sleeping on the stairs. The office is always closed. 09/27/23 I requested the pest control like they said but the things got worse, roaches everywhere."

"Had a family member who lived here recently. The maintenance crew responded promptly but the office never answers the phone. It was sold under new management within the last year, but not sure it is any better. Mailboxes were broken into and the laundry room was never open during posted hours. My family member moved and I am glad. Always worried about vehicle getting towed. Apartment flooded over Christmas and maintenance did respond promptly. However they would not replace the carpet. They did clean it. Avoid staying here if possible."
