"Current resident - DONT MOVE IN HERE. Construction is awful. Management was great when I moved in, signed a 15 month lease. One girl left about a month or two in and it’s been a disaster since then. It’s not worth paying the cost of living here. This is not a ‘luxury’ building as advertised. Nothing is ever stocked and management is impossible to get a hold of. I’ve had work orders out for a month now because external building doors are broken (A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE) and management is unresponsive. I have been told it’s short staffing, but they’ve been short staffed for a long time now (4+ months of the building falling apart and unresponsive management). You can find another better managed building for the same price a block away. There was a two month period of time where I could not get anyone at management to answer the phone, respond to my messages, and when I would try to go down in person, the doors would be locked all day. They are too short staffed to respond to resident needs, but they have enough staff to find me $40 for leaving a trash bag in the hallway when the trash valet service canceled that evening due to bad weather. Oh, and you can bet that we didn’t get a refund for the week of trash valet service that got canceled due to weather. And when I emailed the building manager asking about it? I got a really rude response from her. Outside of management, the building itself is not worth the cost, there is absolutely zero insulation between floors and you can hear everything that your neighbors are doing. Save your mental health and find another building to live in"
"I went in for a tour almost a month ago, and had the pleasure of meeting one of the leasing agents, Caitlin. She really took the time to learn about what was important to me in my apartment search which I really appreciated. She gave me a thorough tour and had answers to all of my questions. She is one of the big reasons I decided to choose The Griff as my new home. I'm so excited to live here! Thank you, Caitlin!"
"The Griff’s customer service was one of the worst I’ve encountered. The location and facility were nice, but unfortunately management ruined the property for me. I’ve noted just a few things I experienced living at the Griff: 1. Apartment was not cleaned when we arrived - They did offer to clean the space after our move-in, but unfortunately, they were not flexible with the timing. I politely requested they avoid a specific 1 HOUR time slot, and they proceeded to arrive when I was on a meeting. Given that the apartment wasn't fully prepared upon our arrival, one would expect the complex to prioritize accommodating new residents. 2. Construction - As noted by other reviews, the construction is noisy and disruptive. It also limits parking spaces if you have guests. 3. Misplaced Package - After receiving a message from The Griff about a package arriving after moving out, I made a 40-minute trip to the office to collect it, only to find it wasn't there. No one could provide information on its whereabouts, and instead, they suggested contacting the carrier for a misplaced package. When I called to speak to someone about the issue, and he laughed at me on the phone- I even had to say “are you laughing at me”. It was very unprofessional. The miscommunication between the initial message and the actual situation is another example of the disorganization I experienced at The Griff. 4. Deposits & Communication from Management - I initially hesitated to leave a review, but the move-out process was beyond frustrating. Despite a text message from The Griff stating no fees would be deducted from my deposit, the check I received included an unexpected cleaning fee. The Assistant Manager later explained an additional charge, specifically for dog hair, listed on the invoice, even though there was NEVER a pet in the unit. This is another example of the disorganization I experienced at The Griff. Despite weeks of efforts to address the issue, the Property Manager assured my reimbursement was being processed on December 19th, yet as of February 7th, I have not received my check. I’ve regularly sent multiple emails to her, only to receive a response after repeated attempts. Despite requesting to speak with the Regional Manager numerous times, I have yet to be provided with their contact information. I wish I would have chosen a different apartment complex!"
"As other commenters have said, there is construction. If you are on the Taylor street side of the building you can hear it in the morning. That said, the Griff really does the most to make up for it. Great amenities, fast service, good community events. The people that put on the events will somehow remember your name from the first time they meet you and will make sure to call you by name when they see you around. It’s seriously impressive. Would recommend living here, especially if you wake up early anyway for work."
"Can’t say enough good things about this place. Courtney and Zach in property management made my move-in absolutely seamless. Chris and Drake on the maintenance team are top notch communicators, patient with questions, and quick to respond to needs. This property has everything you need in a neighborhood that’s booming. Friendly tenants. Lots of sweet dogs. Clean grounds. Very good coffee at Elegy. I’m grateful I found The Griff!"
