"Fine for dental hygen, very dishonest when it comes to diagnosis. A discolored filling in their practice translates in to urgent crown. Everywhere else, just a discolored filling. Unnecessary procedures is the name of their business."
"I reached out to them for dental implants after months of preparation. I have extreme fear and anxiety from bad experiences at some dentist in the past but I have to do this for my own well being at this point. I have settled in a good paying job and only just started working on my credit but already worked out a co-signer. However the woman who reached out to me was not only rude and lacked compassion when asking me questions but the second I said I probably had a low credit score and was hoping for a monthly plan between 5-800 she told me “Having a good job means nothing it’s your credit and you’ll need a co-signer goodbye.” Then hung up. Never gave me a chance to even tell her my mom already offered and she has a perfect score and I already know I can comfortably pay a high monthly payment. Completely lacked professionalism and all the traits I believe someone working for a dental office should all have compassion, patience, kindness, professionalism, understanding, non judgmental, and the ability to fool the potential client that you actually care. I’m glad I talked to her though because it saved me time since I would never be able to do business with them knowing they thought she is the type of first impression they want showcasing their business and dentistry. I would not want to deal with an office she plays and important role in."
"Update: I immediately heard back from Berkeley Dental Center after posting the below review, and finally got a detailed accounting of my situation. They say they are sending me a refund check for about $250. (The discrepancy between what I think I’m owed and what they think I’m owed is apparently due to services I paid for that weren’t ever submitted to insurance, because insurance doesn’t cover them. This was not well explained in advance.) I’ve been waiting for a refund for six months. I've spent hours looking at paperwork and making calls. I'm glad they finally have acknowledged that I'm due a refund, and I look forward to receiving the check. Original review: Berkeley Dental Center overcharged me for dental work by $750 and refuses to refund my money, despite months of repeated calls, questions, and clear records from my insurance company showing the difference and overpayment. My story is the same as a lot of other 1-star commenters here: I was given an estimate for dental work in January 2022, and told it was based on what they expected my insurance would pay. Of course, they charged me the full amount up front, when the work was done. Fine. But then it turned out my insurance lowered the cost of the work, and paid a larger share than the office estimated. The difference amounted to more than $750. I’ve been calling the staff here for months, trying to get refunded, trying to get an explanation. If they even answer my calls, I'm always told the same thing — to call back next week. I will not be giving Berkeley Dental Center any more of my money, and I recommend you don’t give them any of yours."
"Great, thorough care by Dr. Hall and staff! I'm hyper aware of cleanliness as a result of the pandemic, and overall felt very safe in the office, but it does seem like more surfaces could be wiped down--like computer screens, keyboards, mice, etc. that are commonly touched throughout the procedures. Want to give 5 stars, but also want to provide that feedback. They really did make me feel at ease, though, and did a wonderful job on my teeth over a few visits in the past month. Keep up the good work."
"My experience was great! The hygienist was very thorough, gentle and thoughtful. She explained everything and answered all my questions. The front desk staff were also very helpful and created a welcoming environment. They were good about explaining insurance coverage up front and offering treatment plans after the visit. The doctor was also gentle and kind as well as very knowledgeable and explained her thought process in a useful and accessible way. Across the board everyone was kind and the care was excellent! Will certainly return and recommend to others."
