"Went in for a gel nail removal (gel removal only). Rating is for rushed, poor job by both nail technicians plus their rudeness. Such a disappointing experience. I deeply respect local businesses and the work it takes to survive in this unpredictable economy, but the service and customer service at this location were severely lacking. I'm suprised by the number of positive reviews."

"I’ve been going to Boniva for a few years for gel manis and regular pedis and they always do a fantastic job. My gel manis consistently last at least three weeks. The ladies are very nice and it’s a beautiful, clean space. When they were closed for remodeling they even sent someone to my house to do my nails. Highly recommend!"

"overcharge. I just left the salon. I went in there to take off some old gel polish that was stubborn and wouldn't come off and while they did not quote me the price, at the end, the lady that took it off said $10 and the lady across the room hushed her and said $12. $12 to take off my gel - a 5 minute procedure that she used a electric nail file and pretty much just scraped it off. I walked out of there $12 plus tip with my nails now damaged. I wont be coming back as I just work down the block. They could've had my business but they're terrible."

"The best nail spot in SF! Michelle and her team are amazing and you can always book an appt or walk in. My gel manicures can last up to five weeks!!! The place is super clean and they are great about sanitizing the stations between customers. 10/10 experience every time."

"This is by far the best nail salon in San Francisco! (& I’ve lived in SF for 4 years, have tried salons all around the Marina, Nob Hill & Potrero Hill - this is the best you can get)! The owner, Michelle, is a sweetheart, she’ll remember you after you go one time. She’s also very diligent about sterilizing all of their equipment, she invested in enough tools so that everything is sterilized overnight and only used 1x/day (literally, she bought 500 cuticle trimmers & autoclaves them after a single use - no risk of weird fugal infections here, even if you’re the last customer of the day)! Also, they do not rush you out, even if you come later in the day. In terms of the actual manicure, Michelle & the other employees do a great job of getting the polish all the day to the cuticle (no space at the bottom), it’s always smooth (no bubbles) and my gel manicures last me 4 weeks. Michelle even tells her customers to come back if you get a chip & they’ll fix it on the spot (I haven’t chipped mine until week 3 or 4 tho). This is the only nail salon that I’ll go to in SF, can’t recommend them enough! Oh, and they do amazing nail art. & if you pick out a bad color (which I’ve done), she’ll take the time to recommend some new options that look better haha"
