Reviews of Carrington Hills
"If I could give it 0 stars, I would. We had A/C problems for over a year. The only reason it got replaced was because I talked to the complex’s manager’s manager’s manager. Yes, you heard that right I had to go up the chain 3 times. Our electric bill was over $100 a month, sometimes $200+. We only had 1089 square feet. I lived a couple miles away in a smaller apartment and never paid over $100 a month. You pay for parking spots that aren’t assigned and are regularly filled up. The prices are through the roof for old apartments. Don’t let the new paint fool you, it’s just masking old issues. Go down the road and pay the same price for a newer unit. You won’t regret it."
"I LOVE Carrington Hills when I tell you I was very excited the nature and the trees give a good vibe to the complex I'm really happy I moved here They have a gym with lots of stuff And not to mention the smart home feature is great it saves my mom time not having to spend 30 minutes just looking for keys And the smart AC/heater is great my mom doesn't have to get up to turn on the heater now she can control it with her phone If you need a new apartment this is the one Another thing is that it's really quiet at night which is great for my family Overall it's a 10/10 I recommend coming here if it fits your needs"
"I just moved in about a month and a half ago. Made the mistake of leasing sight unseen due to leaving a bad marriage. What a janky apartment. Every outlet is loose. Some outlets don’t even work. The windows either don’t open, are hard to open, or won’t stay open. The veneer paneling is peeling on every cabinet. There’s a lingering cigarette/weed smell, idk if the surrounding apartments smoke or if the prior tenant was a chain smoker. There’s a stale water smell in the bathroom that I’ve put 2 work orders in, the toilet doesn’t leak anymore but the bathroom smells so bad it’s nauseating to even walk into. However maintenance is quick, the grounds and amenities are awesome. Staff is nice as well, and the neighbors are great."
"DO NOT MOVE HERE I lived in this apartment complex from 1/2020 until 2/2023. At first it was a great place to live. They had reasonable prices, the location was great, and the service was great! By the time I left, that was no longer the case. They continue to raise the rent by hundreds of dollars, despite not offering services to match the price increase. Maintenance used to be super quick when I first moved in. By the end, they were doing things like “fixing” our sink, but wiring it to where red = cold water and blue = hot water. We had to send multiple requests to get our dryer fixed. It was overheating and wouldn’t turn off when the door was opened, so our clothes smelled like smoke and we used our meat thermometer to test the heat and it was reading 200 degrees! They also charge for everything. You have to pay for parking. But will you get a spot close to your apartment? Not likely! I was consistently parking multiple buildings away despite paying. If you want USPS to leave packages you’ll have to pay for Parcel Pending. The other services (UPS, FedEx, Amazon) will leave packages, but if it won’t fit in a small mailbox, USPS won’t leave it unless you pay! I went to the post office four times during this last Christmas season to pick up packages that they wouldn’t leave. Also, you have to pay for valet trash pickup. It’s $30 a month. However, in the last month of my lease, the trash pickup people forgot to get my trash one day. The front office said it was still our responsibility (despite paying $360 a year for it not to be our responsibility) and promptly charged us $25 per bag. The most interesting thing that happened while I lived there was that during a storm one night, a tree fell onto my car (picture included). What did Carrington Hills do? Nothing! They sent me to their insurance people, who told me it was an “act of nature”, so they weren’t responsible. There are other problems as well, such as loud neighbors, the drifting smell of marijuana smoke coming from other apartments, trash being left out, periods where the steps are falling apart, a Draconian front office, and so on. It’s sad that a place that I really loved the first year or two that I lived there has fallen to where it is now. Hopefully they can get back to where they once were! Until then, please do your research and stay clear of Carrington Hills (and other UDR apartments). Thanks for reading my rant lol."
"Lived here for about 3 years, moved in originally because of the perfect view. With every year this complex just kept on getting worse and worse. And price went up with every year. I finally moved out. I have never experienced such poor management. Constant trash outside of buildings, compactor always broken, piles of trash right at the entry. For the monthly amount they charge …… thats just embarrassing. ZERO updates! Popcorn ceilings/walls. They still have the old black appliances that barley function. I wont even get started on the veneered kitchen cabinets (that they use scotch tape to fix on some that are peeling off) Gates constantly open / broken. No matter how many times the pest control comes LARGE Centipedes just keep coming roaming around. Packages always misplaced, missing or left in the middle of nowhere. Car break-ins, break ins in general. Where’s the ”gated” service?? Overall this place needs major change, with management first and then renovation."
