"I walked in for a tour and my jaw dropped! The Shay is absolutely gorgeous and very updated. I walked in and was greeting by Madison who was incredibly helpful; she answered all of my questions with a lot of knowledge about the complex and are. She was extremely knowledgeable. The few residents we did run into greeting her by name as well! We will absolutely be coming back for more information closer to our move in date! 10/10 recommend"

"As a resident of The Shay for over two and a half years, I have loved living at The Shay SO much that I decided to get a job here a year in to living at this luxurious and beautiful apartment complex! Some noteworthy things to mention are when you first enter the building, you are greeted by the warmth of a live plant wall and natural wood elements that capture your senses. What I loved when I first took a tour was the hospitality of the staff. The amenities are maintained on a daily basis so you feel that you are almost in a hotel lobby! My favorite amenity to enjoy to the full is the infinity style pool. You can catch optimal amounts of sunshine to get your vitamin D boost throughout the summer! The gym is also a huge two story gym w/ floor to ceiling windows that will get you to cancel your gym membership in a heartbeat! I have lived in both 1 & 2 bedrooms here and I have nothing but raving reviews for both floor plans. The Shay oozes the essence of Nash and will capture your heart!"

"While living at The Shay, we’ve had nothing but great experiences. The Shay offers plenty of green areas (for humans and fur friends) well kept facilities and the most lovely twinkle lights shining bright on the evergreens greeting you as you enter the complex. The pool is wonderful during the hot months and the coffee/hot chocolate bar is welcoming in the colder months. When we’re not walking or riding our bikes in Centennial Park, we are utilizing the 2 story workout rooms. We haven’t met a staff member that wasn’t courteous and professional…and you can always find someone if needed. What was impressive was how quickly the office and maintenance staff responded to a few minor issues we had upon moving in. Efficiency is top notch. A special shout out to Mandy for her willingness to always answer our questions and finding us the perfect apartment for our stay. Hope to see y’all next year!"

"Starting with the positives, the apartment itself is beautiful. Gym is great. Noise level inside the apartment is prob the least out of all the apartments I’ve ever lived in (to be fair I’m used to non luxury apartments). Community is great and very very dog friendly complex. The first year we were here, we didn’t have many issues. Maintenance crew is prob the best out there, and absolutely love Allie, the assistant manager; her enthusiasm is contagious. Great location as well for conveniences and vumc residents/fellows. HOWEVER, Nashville has recently seen an uptick in auto thefts, and unfortunately the shay is no exception. Safety has become a concern for many residents, and for the price that we pay monthly it prob should be a basic expectation. Not much has changed from management since concerns have been brought up, which is probably a red flag for a lot of potential renters. So while the pros are definitely there for living here, the questionable safety of living here and importantly the lack of response has now outweighed our pros, and we likely will not be renewing our lease next year."

"I am a current resident and have been here for over a year. Since moving in, there have been 3-4 instances where people have broken into the garage and stolen vehicles/broken into people’s cars and the Shay/ Carter Haston have refused to take action. Residents no longer feel safe here, especially with the fact that majority of the cameras they have are just for show. The new property manager, Erin, seems to only be concerned about aesthetics of the building rather than resident safety since taking over, which is another major red flag. I love the community here and how dog friendly it is - majority of my friends live at the Shay and that aspect of everything is great. Maintenance staff is wonderful and they don’t get near enough credit - they go above and beyond for everything and are just overall so kind. 10/10 for them but for property management, solid 2/10. The assistant manager, Allie, is so sweet and I think she means well, but as far as the property manager and Carter Haston, they do not show that they care about actual resident concerns/safety. I do not want to leave the Shay due to the community and great location, but safety is a major priority and we shouldn’t feel unsafe every time we need to go to our cars."
