"Mr. Thom is knowledgeable, passionate about what he does, and is willing to share his love and knowledge of archery. World Class Service, great prices, and lots of charm. Go see Tom at TLC. You won't regret it!"
"Tom is hands down “The Man” when it comes to archery, he is one of the best in the business. Don’t take my word for it. Go check him out. I think you’ll love the experience."
"Simply, the best. Tom has been enthusiastically promoting archery for decades. He instructs archery for all ages. Offers a complete selection of gear, and expert boyer tuning for Hunting to Olympic target. Specialized in Archery for everyone, from the novice to World Champion. Spend some time on the full practice range. (Inside and Out) TLC is the only place to shoot 60 Yard target and turn around and shoot 20 Yard. TLC is a great place for family fun and all your archery needs. Sincerely Rob"
"Day before the opening of 2018 A Zone Archery Deer Season and 3 of the strands on my recurve severed. With no material to twist a string myself, I just about scratched the opening day. I remembered TLC Archery on a preseason scouting trip so I gave Thom a call around 8 p.m.! I explained the situation and told me to stop by, at 8 a.m. We did a quick morning hunt on our way to TLC from the local mountain and met Thom at the Santa Ynez Valley Bow Club archery range where they were conducting a memorial ceremony for a Brother of the Bow that had just passed away . HAPPY HUNTING GROUNDS, RON RODRIGUEZ. After the ceremony Thom had us follow him down the road to his shop where he spinned up a string in no time and with just a few twists my bow was shooting better than when I had the Flemish string. I thought we'd be on our way to continue the hunt but Thom had so much rich California history to share and archery and hunting stories to tell that we were anchored there for a few hours. Listening to Thom in a homely atmosphere put deer hunting on the back burner. I'm not trying to put Thom out there like that, but if you are in a archery dilemma during a hunt or on the way, it wouldn't surprise me that Thom would open his shop to remedy the situation if he could. He's not about the money, he's for the Toxophilia of it all. Thom's family is rooted and anchored in the Santa Ynez Valley. Thom and Lori are the are the Fruits of those roots ."
"Unreal customer service and attention to detail. Thom will go as deep into the rabbit hole of archery as you want to go, offering unbiased and profoundly expert advice all along the way. He and his wife are both experienced target shooters, members of various clubs and associations, and kind people. Thom listened to my desired use-case for my bow, my budget constraints, my previous experience (none), and offered clear choices between price brackets. He educated me about the differences between all the bows I was looking at, and about bows he does not carry. After spending an hour feeling different bows in my hand with no real intent to purchase, one specific model caught my attention and I actually decided to "pull the trigger" and purchase! We then spent the next three hours meticulously setting up the bow for me. He "re-served" the string (protective wrapping), installed various gadgets, a peep sight, and spent time coaching me on how to properly draw and shoot. I spent about an hour alone just shooting arrows with Thom. He offered advice on every aspect of preparation for a shot, shooting form, and how to let the bow do the work once you've decided to let fly! It's exhilarating! After that hour, I kid you not, I was placing arrows in a 4" pattern at 20 yards, and a 1.5' pattern at 60 yards. He also decided to change the types of arrows I was using and for some reason that also made me more accurate. I could NOT have had that experience shopping out of a magazine, and there is no retail establishment that even has the level of knowledge of the sport to give a shopping experience like this. I'm invited back to shoot some more arrows and get more tips from Thom and other enthusiasts. If you even Think you might like archery, give yourself a chance to appreciate it and drive to see Thom. Call first - the place is down a gated ranch road and you'll need the gate code:) And I realize this sounds like an ad that someone might have paid me to write, but if you look me up we can talk till your ear falls off!... I love this place. (Side-note: several accomplished marksmen have emerged from the TLC Archery establishment, and it's clear why. They get constant "TLC". While I was there, a few people came through and loosed some arrows at the targets that are always set up and ready, and tuned their bows.)"
