"Jessica Tseng was so kind! Nicest dentist I have met. Her assistant was also great. Gave explanations and education for the reasons of what was happening with my teeth. The front desk staff was very friendly as well and informative regarding insurance questions. I didn’t have to wait a long time to be taken back as well. First dental visit in awhile. Lucky to have met this lovely group of people."

"Shocked to see all these positive reviews. Without a doubt, the worst dentist experience I have ever been through. I have a very high pain tolerance and this dentist gave me very bad pain while doing everything, whether it was cleaning or fillings. The doctor is young so that can be due to inexperience but my god, I literally have never been through so much dentistry pain. I can't imagine what other people feel when I already have high pain tolerance. They also seem to push you to pay for as many things as possible. The fillings the dentist did are terrible, every so often I get some jaw pain. I need to find a new dentist to re do it. Now the assistants are phenomenal, they are so extremely friendly and endearing. Almost as if they know how bad the dentist is and they are making up for it. Don't come here."

"WARNING PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. AWFUL ETHICS, POTENTIAL MALPRACTICE. I honestly have waited to write this review until I was able to see another dentist and make sure my experience was appropriate and accurate to share. I also saw another review on here describing a near identical experience to mine- I attended here as a first time patient, in network on my insurance and was quoted over $3000 in dental work (after insurance). I’m in my early 20’s and have only ever had a small cavity here or there. I was told I had to redo all of my existing fillings, get three new fillings, have deep cleaning, laser therapy, and should get sealants on my molars. When I questioned the quote and work recommended and said I didn’t want laser therapy(it’s not covered by insurance) or any of my fillings redone (I had no issues with them) I was told they wouldn’t treat me because it wasn’t worth the dentists time and I’d have to change my deep cleaning appointment that they made for me the following week to 5 months later… I should’ve never gone back at that point but I did - I called in advance of my appointment again expressing concern regarding all that was quoted and said I only wanted anything absolutely necessary. they said we could talk about it when I came in for my appointment, so I did, at which point the dentist tried very VERY hard to convince me to have all the work done still even though I’d already said no to most of it, she then proceeded to say “I didn’t care about my health” and that essentially money shouldn’t matter and that everything she was saying was necessary (even though sealants aren’t even recommended for adults or necessary) - I continued to express I was willing to do what I needed at that time but that I didn’t want everything done. To say I felt like I was being bullied is an understatement. I’ve never been treated so rudely and experienced such unprofessionalism in the way the dentist continued to speak to me. I was nearly in tears. Fast forward, I saw another dentist at a different office who expressed my gums were in good shape, no cavities, and that one filling was poorly done in my mouth but if it didn’t cause me issues there was no reason to replace it. I asked the dentist about the work quoted by the dentist at rockaway beach dental and was told that it seemed unecessary and extreme. Even my periodontal measurements were exaggerated by the rock away beach dentist expressing that I basically had boarderline gum disease already when the second dentist said they were fine and didn’t even recommend deep cleaning, even when I asked multiple times to clarify he wasn’t recommending it ( I asked multiple times because the results were so drastically different) and I was told by the rockaway Beach dentist that my gums wouldn’t improve without doing occasional laser therapy- Long story short- this dentist will scam you. They will try really hard to push laser therapy too. It’s downright unethical. No dentist should ever be pushing unecessary work or literally fighting with someone trying to coherce them into getting work done they either can’t afford, don’t need, or just don’t want. They make you feel like they’re doing a thorough job, but it’s just a scam sincerely. Please please please if you go here GET A SECOND OPINION BEFORE THEY DO ANYTHING! On a side note I had a good experiences with the staff otherwise, the front desk people were very helpful in explain my insurance coverage on items and so on. I wanted to like this place it’s a good location and office, but I feel taken advantage of and violated that I gave in a let someone do work in my mouth that was not necessary, even when I tried to say no, but was still pushed to doing some work despite my concerns. I write this review because I don’t want this to happen to anyone else or have anyone else feel or go through how I felt. Dentists have so much power to take advantage of the general public’s lack of knowledge on dental work and this one abused that and shouldn’t be trusted. "Going to Rockaway Beach Dental was a great experience. The staff members are warm and friendly which automatically brought down my “dentist anxiety”.
