"Decent place to live if you love flies and raw sewage at your front door. Happens frequently, property manager never answers the phone. Haven’t been able to use the amenities in a year and a half but always hear “they’ll open again soon.” Half the electric doesn’t work including security features like porch lights. UPDATE: 6 days later and there’s still raw sewage all over my front porch (2nd picture) Property manager hasn’t done anything to help, not even answer the phone when I call and I’ve left several voicemails.. so dissatisfied with her."
"I wish I could give A NEGATIVE rating of five stars! Because of the owners and the management teams of the Monticello Apartments. The managers are only doing what the owners advise and allow? I don't see how they sleep at night and enjoy their families after the ill-treatment they knowingly dish out daily to their tenants. The two bright lights in this whole ordeal has been two assistants, Mr. Torlan Townson and Ms. Shardell Watson. The apartment was GREAT, spacious, walk-in closets, the grounds were weekly groomed, quiet, maintenance staff always friendly...BUT, the property manager(s) are and were totally inconsiderate. I've been here through two managers. They wanted me to accept water damage, appearance of mold(spots on the wall, warped kitchen cabinets and the smell) and dried out carpet. I had four water leaks! Code Enforcement was involved in three of the incidents. One was so obvious it couldn't be denied. This present manager looked into my face, on the last occasion, and said any compensation requested wasn't gonna happen because 'Anyway, you can't smell mold.' I couldn't believe it?. Code Enforcement was a great help to me. Walls, carpet and cabinets were replaced. And, I was compensated for two of the incidents. I am leaving because they raised the rent, poor management of situations and unfair treatment of a loyal tenant. What about just doing the "RIGHT THING"? IF MAKOWSKY RINGEL GREENBERG ARE OWNERS OF THE PROPERTY YOU ARE ABOUT TO RENT...RUN, RUN, RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION BECAUSE THEY HIRE PROPERTY MANAGERS THAT WILL BE LESS THAN OBLIGING."
"So far we have been living here for about 6 months. We moved in February 15th, after having a two-week waiting period. To be honest we were looking for apartments that would not take so long to move into. We gave them a chance due to all the amenities they claimed. Are walkthrough with scheduled at the end of the day when it was time for them to leave. They claim the minor things that we pointed out we could write on paper and they would be handled and a very timely fashion. We now know that not to be true. We put in a lot of our work orders before the covid-19 shutdown. And most of them today still have not been handled. They are understaffed in the office as well as their maintenance team. I have been patient and reminding them that we were needing are Maintenance order request for filled they kept stating how they had a backlog. Recently everything has slowly began to open back up and we follow their procedures for scheduling pool time. We always try to make sure we wait before we tell our children that we're doing something so that just in case plans change they won't be disappointed. Unfortunately this was not the case because when we arrive for our appointment time for swimming no one was in the office and no one answered the phone calls or the emergency phone number. I could be dealing with a busted toilet and would pretty much receive no help. So the list of things that we found. We are completely understanding that the apartments are at least 50 years old. We noticed that our dishwasher was not adhere to the counter space, it rocks and it's cavity. Most of our glass fixtures have fallen. Are master bathroom toilet doesn't flush and our master bath tub backs up soon after the water is turned on. My daughter's closet door hinges are stripped. My son's room closet door was barely a tiered and Has Fallen. The overpass that we park under leaks. Since we've been here we explain that the fencing did not look stable. It ended up falling during the last high wind. When it was reinstalled the nails wer protruding through and ruptured our swimming pool. We told them that we noticed a spot above our master bathroom sink where the ceiling look like it has been leaking they told us it was an old leak until we got a heavy rain and it leaked and is now molded. The list goes on and on I literally sent a work order with at least 25 different things that needed to be done when we first got here. I would say that the community is fairly decent there are a lot of older people here. But we still come across the normal adolescent that are loud and speed through recklessly. Just informed that there really isn't any security here especially when the officers that they say live here are not here. Be mindful of the area you will hear constant gunshots at all hours of the night and early morning. It is definitely not worth the $1,300 a month that we pay. We have definitely been disappointed because we pay our rent on time and in full."
"Spacious and decent layouts, met by high prices, but not worth the extra cost. The amenities are not worth the additional cost. Gate is always broken. It is pretty quiet, but safety has been a concern lately. Rising costs but no on site (visible) security. Maintenance is often times slow to fix things and many things in the units are outdated and require adequate maintenance. The staff however is friendly and helpful. Recent management changes have been challenging."
"I like it here. update: I must say this apartment complex is one of the best out there. At such an affordable price, this property has all the amenities any tenant would want. I recently moved to another MRG property closer to my job and although this property is good as well I miss the amenities at The Monticello. The two entrances plus a patio, the car port, the personal mail box attached under the car port, the storage, the washer and dryer, black appliances, spacious bed room, and my great quiet neighbors. There were some issues that I had while there, but Brooke and Tony assured me those issues would be handled. I've referred several people to this community and I hope they enjoy it as much as I did :-)"
