Reviews of The Monarch on Highland
"01/21/24: this weekend, the fire department came and woke everyone up at 12am due to a carbon Monoxide leak!! This building will kill you. AND we now for a SECOND TIME have no washer or dryer use!!! The pipes burst a SECOND time in my time living here. THE FIVE STAR REVIEWS ARE CREATED BY THE MANAGEMENT. DO NOT BELIEVE IT. 09/02/23: it is Labor Day weekend and we are now without AC. (The 9th time our AC has gone out since I moved in) What a horrible way to live a holiday weekend. WE ARE HAVING TO GET A HOTEL, as it has reached 82 in my apartment!! 07/28/23: We have had three property companies buy this place since we moved in. It always gets sold and left in worse conditions. I was charged $20 for 6 months for a trash fee that didn't exist. I asked for it to be removed and Stephanie (manager) said she couldn't remove it. AGAIN, paying for an amenity that was removed from the building!! Anytime our neighbors drop something in there apartment, we can hear it in ours. We sleep with headphones in because of it. Anyways, I'm super excited to be leaving, to everyone else trapped, you'll make it out too!! One day... it will fail! Original: We found a homeless man living in unit 305. He has been here sleeping in the hallways for about a month. He finally moved into a vacant unit last week. The police were called around 12am and he was removed but he keeps coming back. It just feels so dangerous. Since the water damage, no delivery mail room, no laundry room, constant car break ins. Nothing management could say would address or fix my concerns. Like if we email them? So? What will that do? The homeless people will return and we still will have to go to laundromats. I need the world to see our living conditions. Please don’t come here."
"Ok , this place when I was occupying residency in it had shifting managements. I recall Pegasus and RPM specifically. The building itself was always in disrepair and suffered water leakage and damage. The winter of 2023 was the worse time to be a tenant here. I just remember the elevators would always be down and the building being extremely unclean and filthy. There was a bad pest problem that I actually had to fix on my own strangely enough. They ironically called themselves spraying (RPM) , my last month of being there. Pegasus was the managers during the extreme water damage. They kind of just was a unfortunate rescue mission. RPM was full on recovery I think cause they kind of had to clean up the mess. I actually was starting to like and respect them. They got a lot done and had a active team. I think they should just be given full on management ownership of the monarch on highland. They can brush up on their customer service skills a little bit though."
"I have had a broken cooling system for the past two days. I had invited guests today, but due to the excessive heat, I had to cancel the party, and I feel very embarrassed." The new management is not only not better than the previous one, but they are also worse and weaker. When we report building problems to them, they handle it as if taking care of building matters is not within their responsibilities. They are very unprofessional and impolite. After eight months of repair, the laundry machines still don't work, and the ones that do are very dirty. Please do not give this establishment a false 5-star rating and do not deceive others Even one star is too much for this establishment For eight months, we didn't have laundry facilities here, and I had to take Uber, incurring a lot of expenses. However, the management did not reduce a cent from my rent. Interestingly, when I inquired about renewing my lease, I found out that newcomers to this building are offered lower rent to encourage them to move in. But for those who endured the horrendous condition of this building for eight months, no discount was offered. So, this management does not show any respect for the residents and is only concerned about renting out this building at any cost."
"i moved in late april of this year and since then it has just been one issue after another. cars constantly broken into or stolen. no security until months later after countless people complained, and before then no type of security within the actual building, anyone could just come and go. water turned off or no hot water and now no a/c for weeks at a time. no plan to reduce utility costs for the time gone without whichever one they decide shut off for the week. management never replies to communications. amenities not open until around late august, but they still advertise them. it's a trap and its clear the company is just in it to make the most money and they don't really care about the residents. edit: just wanted to add to this review that in january 2023 i arrived home one day after the building flooded to find construction workers tearing down the walls in my unit with zero notice from the property manager or company. when i called to find out what was going on property manger had no clue it was even occurring. how are you unaware that you have construction crews demoing your residence apartments. there was no concern for my cat who i paid ridiculous pet deposits and fees for, or even me considering i was a young woman living alone and having to come home to find random men in my apartment moving all of my things around and destroying my apartment. their solution was to staple plywood and plastic up as walls. they still wanted me to pay rent and then when it came to time for me to move out after months of having to live with dad because they refused to fix my walls they wanted to charge me early move out fees. i now know that it was probably because they quickly sold the property after they realized how extensive the flood damage was and didn’t want to pay for repairs. what type of company expects its residents to pay for and live in a building with no security, half working utilities, falsely advertised utilities, and units with no walls. i would also like to add that if you have any sort of disability that requires an elevator for mobility don’t live here because it is broken 5/7 days of the week."
