"If you like secondhand smoke and management that tolerates it this place is for you. Edit 12/12/23: I noticed that Alco management you're responding. We called multiple times. Left multiple voice messages and nothing was done. I called, my brother called, my sil called, and my sister called we are in different units and you guys did NOT respond. Are you actually going to answer or call back or are you just saying that?"
"My wife and I tried calling and email numerous times. Regarding the ongoing smoking at Uptown Square that is seeping through our vents from both our upstairs and downstairs neighbors. Our kid has asthma and the constant smell triggered my pregnant wife nausea. We decided we needed to move because the situation has never been resolved. Within their leasing agreement states that smoking is not permitted and repercussions would be instituted for anybody caught violating their terms . That is a LIE. They don't care. Only want to collect money. Management is poor and has been getting worse in the past 2 years. I would recommend this place to smokers and people that don't mind trash within their community. Alco management will leave little no communication because they know they have numerous complaints they don't care to resolve. Alco management don't like giving out email likely to not leave a paper trail of complaints."
"Stay away from this complex if you can. This is one of the worst apartments I have ever lived in. The AC broke down in the summer with 95 degrees inside at times and they took more than two weeks to fix it. Put in the request on August 17th and wasn't fixed on September 4th. They claimed they couldn't find contractors to come fix it. My family and I had to sit sweating in the apartment while they did nothing but collect the rent check. I had a roof leak and they never fixed it. Also they towed my car that was parked in front of my apartment with the parking tag on the rearview mirror. I had to pay ~$200 to get it back and I was never reimbursed. Actually they parked my car at the mall, took pictures that I double parked in the complex. But it was parked in front of my apartment at 9PM and it was gone at 7AM. It is closed to Saint Jude where I worked as postdoc , and I couldn't really move because I didn't have the time but it was four long years. It looks nice but it so many issues with poor management, high staff turnover, slow fixing things, but quick to fine you or wrongly tow your car."
"This is the new name of Lauderdale Apartments, where #ElvisPresley lived when he was a teenager and attended school at Humes in Memphis, Tennessee. I was very excited about going here as it was my first time learning that these apartments rented this unit. What a special place to visit! All the furniture is made to fit the era that #ElvisPresley lived there. The unit is complete with a guitar. I don't like passing judgment, but the area did concern me greatly as the first thing we saw coming into town were many police units aresting people on the road right beside the apartments. How sad it is that this town is so very riddled with crime. Poverty is one thing. There is no crime in being poor. Jesus was poor. Many of us grow up poor. We know that Elvis was very humble due to his family's lack of wealth during thr depression growing up in the South. If you are an Elvis fan, this is a must do. I ultimately decided to get all my photos and leave. I am not sharing them here because I am not giving any spoiler alerts for anyone who has never been here before. You just need to see this one for yourself. It is worth the money spent for a night. It is a very special event. Once in a lifetime. A close second glimpse is Baz Lehrman's #Elvis movie that has a few scenes from this style apartment."
"Nice area in north Memphis. I love the fact that the area is clean and the home owners take pride in the upkeep. The area as a whole shows that black people takes pride in where they live. There was abandoned cars and people loitering around. No loud music playing to disturb the tranquility of the home stead. I really got the impression that it's a safe place to raise a family. My hat is off to the community as a whole."
