Reviews of East Tennessee Behavioral Health
"I reached out to this place for outpatient services. I inquired about payment. I received an answer by Alexandria Elliott saying they only take insurance. Ok, they need to change their website then. It says on their website (I'm quoting them) "If you do not have insurance coverage, please don’t let this stop you from contacting us. Many individuals and families are pleasantly surprised at our ability to work with them to develop flexible payment plans that fit their budget, or to help them explore alternative means of financing their treatment." These place clearly lies & does not care."
"My loved one was admitted on a Tuesday and the facility didn't have the anti psychotic medication they've been on for years on the formulary. It took until that Saturday, each day with my loved one having visual and auditory hallucinations, for the "team" of care givers to realize they might should be taking their meds. A nurse called me to ask me to bring it to them, from where I live two hours away. After I drove over half way there, the nurse called back to let me know the doctor had decided to give them a different anti psychic instead. I asked to speak with someone and was referred to a "patient advocate" who got in touch with me 4 days later and said she would check into it and asked me to give her 24-48 hours. I haven't heard from her yet. It's been over 2 weeks. Also, when they discharged my loved one I had to call them over 5 times that day to get the prescribed medication phoned in because the pharmacy didn't have the order. I was finally informed by a nurse that it was showing "pending" and not sent because the prescribing provider "didn't hit send"."
"I really enjoyed my experience there, the staff was helpful and kind, especially Jimmy he’s super cool, I made a lot of mentally ill friends lol, his some origami swans around the ward. Watched a lot of Twilight Saga. The food was pretty good, the therapy groups were really helpful. Obviously I would NOT want to have to go back, but if I ever do, I wouldn’t mind going back to this hospital."
"I have a family member that’s a patient here. He’s only been here a few days. I dropped off some of his clothes after speaking to a staff member to make sure it’s allowed. The staff member said I could drop them off and that they would get them to my family member very quickly. It’s been two days and my family member still hasn’t gotten his clothing. He has asked the staff multiple times for them and they just keep telling him they’ll look for them. I have been calling nonstop to figure out what they did with his belongings and still haven’t gotten any answers as to where his clothes are and why he hasn’t received them. They won’t even answer calls or call back when leaving a voicemail. I dropped off a few outfits and lounge clothes totaling over $100 so it’s RIDICULOUS that his clothes were “lost”. I would not recommend this facility to anyone if that’s how they treat a person and his belongings."
"My son a paranoid Schizophrenic with addiction problems stayed there for over 3 weeks. The social worker couldn't find him a group home to go to, so they released him to a homeless shelter!!!! He has been in a hospital and group homes for the past 5 years, doesn't know how to take care of himself much less be at a homeless shelter!!! I don't know where he is, he didn't show up for for lunch yesterday and the homeless shelter and ETB health don't care and hospital social worker didn't do her job and doesn't care. Hope we don't get a call he's dead from od"
