"I live in a country that doesn’t have many Asians, so I figured while I was here in the US, it’d be the perfect opportunity to get my hair colored at a salon that knows how to work on Asian hair. My sister, who lives in San Diego, suggested Hairworks in Mira Mesa. I made an appointment via text on a Thursday and was able to book an appointment with Anh for Saturday. Upon arriving, I was pleased to see parking for this shopping area is ample, so guests of Hairworks needn’t worry about that. The salon itself is conveniently located in the Village at Mira Mesa shopping area. There is a Marshall’s right across from the salon and several places to eat or grab a coffee while you are waiting for your appointment. The salon itself is bright with large windows and plenty of natural light. The ambiance is chill; it’s not too loud and the music is relaxing. My stylist, Anh, was amazing. She was very professional, not judgy (I came in with an awful haircut lol) and did a beautiful job coloring and highlighting my hair as well evening out the uneven bits I came in with. Anh works methodically and efficiently and I was able to get my (virgin)hair colored, highlighted, toned and trimmed in a little less than 2 hours. She was also able to squeeze my mom in for a quick trim (my mom loved her hair and will continue to go to Anh for all her future haircuts!). I was so pleased with the results and the service that I decided to have my eyebrows microbladed by Anh a few weeks later. The first appointment went well and I’m due for my second session soon. I will write an update and a more detailed review of my microblading experience after the healing process is complete. The prices are very reasonable and the customer service is fantastic. Credit cards are accepted, but not preferred. I paid using zelle, which was the quickest and easiest way for me. If you’ve been looking for a new stylist, don’t hesitate to visit Hairworks!"
