Reviews of Pediatric Choice Clinic
"Mindy was so kind and listened to all of my concerns for my son and helped with a game plan . I don’t think there has ever been a doctor I’ve been so comfortable with. So happy to have seen her! I will be requesting my son to see her from now on"
"A nurse practitioner at this clinic misdiagnosed my daughter with strep throat about a week and a half ago. She did not do a throat swab, she simply looked at her throat, said she’s seen this enough to know it’s strep, and prescribed an antibiotic. Not only did the antibiotic never get sent over to the pharmacy (we had to call many times to actually have it sent over) , my daughter never had strep. She finished the prescribed antibiotics. Took my daughter back to this doctor as her symptoms did not get better and she had very loud snoring at night (which she never had before) and actually stopped breathing multiple times during the night and was throwing up while sleeping. The new doctor (who was very kind and attentive) looked at her tonsils and was very concerned about the size and appearance of them. She did a throat swab and it was negative for strep. She was then diagnosed with tonsillitis. One of the tonsils are at a stage 4 which she explained is the highest they could be and one was at a 3, and this is what is causing her obstructed breathing at night. She prescribed the CORRECT antibiotic and the prescription actually got sent over this time. The doctor my daughter seen today was very professional and followed correct diagnostic procedure. The original nurse practitioner should be reprimanded for negligence as this is completely unacceptable for a licensed professional."
"Not very helpful. Got they children working in the office answering phone. People in front office was in lobby playing with the children. Doctor didn't want to do test on child I ask them to do. After two visits child wound up with walking pneumonia. Then had the nerve to complain about giving her medication she didn't need. Which she needed she's finally better. I mean you don't won't you patience to here what you saying about them remember to shut the door on the way out of the room!"
"Been here for 9 years, but Recently had a baby…she wasn’t gaining weight and after the doctor and staff refused to properly listen to me and accused me of putting my feelings to breastfeed ( which I said I wanted to supplement with breast milk to eventually breastfeed several times)before my child’s health and got angry with me for mentioning that I set up an appointment with the health department for the lactation consultant,( the earliest being the upcoming Tuesday,) they refused to listen to me, talked over me, and told me to “go home and feed my baby” after handing me formula with no nipple. Also completely inexcusable to try and make me breastfeed in office where the child is too uncomfortable to try. Two months ago I had to WALK IN TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AFTER CALLING 50 TIMES, for my eldest child to be seen for a cold she had, and on top of I after mentioning this to the staff when making the appointment they had the audacity to blame being understaffed. I’ve never had issues until this past year, and I will be going to a new clinic after today. I gave them a second chance after my eldest was seen due to understaffing, but I will not be belittled and leave in tears( twice in two consecutive days) because I contacted the health department, which I have to because I’m on WIC. My consultant is helping me find a new doctor, and I’m very grateful for her to do so. Find a doctor that has enough staff to answer their phones, this place has gone downhill quickly"
"Wonderful experience - transferring from KPA. First of all I rolled up to my kids appointments this morning like a hot mess. A hyper 4 year old, a sassy 3 year old wheelchair user, and a crying 7 week old baby. They helped us get inside and settled and one of the staff even fed the baby a bottle for me so I could focus on filling out paperwork! The new baby established with them coming home from the hospital so today was just for the big kids. Their new patient checkups were very thorough and included vision and hearing screenings. Dr. Amer was very attentive and took thorough medical history, answered questions, addressed concerns, and was knowledgeable of my daughters complex medical care (usually I have to explain some things because they may not have much experience with certain aspects of her disability. This was not the case this time). I’d also like to mention that at one point my daughter was obstructing the hallway and a staff member who needed to get by said “excuse me” and waited for her to roll herself out of the way. This was great! For those of you not familiar with etiquette around wheelchair users this is a big deal and the correct way to handle the situation. I think this is the first time I have not had to intervene because someone just grabs her chair and moves her out of the way (when someone is in a wheelchair, that is an extension of their body. They’re a person not a piece of furniture so you shouldn’t just grab them and move them around if they don’t ask you to). Over all great experience."
