"Great Smiles of La Mesa is a great dentist. They are clear from the beginning to end of my appointment. Both Maryana and Lorraine are great hygienists and are very gentle. I never really like going to the dentist and they completely changed my perspective. Everyone is so sweet, from Daisy Mae and Tiffany, they both are transparent with me. To the wonderful assistants. I love the music they play as it eases my anxiety, you can tell everyone loves working here! Thank you great smiles for the best experience ever, you guys are worth it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️"

"If you like the idea of getting your teeth taken care of in a sorority house then this is the place for you. From the loud music, to the personal conversations and roaring laughter that can be heard throughout the office this place looks and feels more like a party house than a doctor's office. I should have listened to my gut and gotten up and walked out on the first appointment but for some reason I didn't. I explained to the doctor on the first visit that I needed to establish a new dentist and wanted x-rays and cleaning. I was in the chair for almost 3 hours on my first visit and never got the cleaning. They convinced me that I needed to get all of my fillings replaced and had me pay up front for it. They also tried so slip in a teeth whitening service which I never wanted or asked for. Thankfully I noticed that and was able to cancel that before they charged my card. But I have a feeling that this place recommends a lot of services that aren't necessary and they are just after the money. They had done one side of my mouth for replacing the fillings and now I am experiencing pain where I wasn't experiencing pain before. I think they went too far and I fear that now I am facing the possibility of a root canal. I had been back 3 times and not only is the pain still there but I never got the cleaning I initially wanted. When I brought this up to them they said "ok well come back and we will waive the fee." I thought "what fee? I had already paid for it." Thankfully I decided not to get the other side of the fillings done otherwise I fear I might be having pain on that side of my mouth too. But since they had me pay for the services up front and refuse to refund my money I'm just out $500. I decided not to go back when I got a strange text message from them to schedule the other side of my fillings when they said "we are now within the 48 hour window" even though we weren't. And "we are happy to announce that we have moved locations." Mind you this was right at Christmas/New Years time. No office would complete a move during Christmas week. And I could have sworn when I first saw them in October that they had just moved into that office based on the conversations I was hearing and they were still getting their signs in place in the parking lot. And I also noticed on one visit that there was a set of dentist instruments in a portable tool box. Doesn't seem like a safe practice."
"Patient beware. If you are like me and can’t hear in noisy places - especially when someone is soft spoken - this is probably not the ideal dentist for you. Great Smiles of La Mesa plays music loudly (especially in their reception area) and apparently the administrative staff – that schedule appointments, take money and communicate with patients – do not have the ability to lower the “loud music” not even for a second! At 68 years old I have a disability (several years prior) where I cannot hear a soft-spoken person during loud music or even in a restaurant setting that is very noisy. While in the dentist office, I was being checked in by the office administrative person and I informed her I could not hear/understand her. After what seemed to be several minutes of not being able to adequately communicate, the dentist happened to come into that section of the office and I asked if she could lower the music. She merely stated the volume was appropriate for the office and its staff of which they enjoyed. I am sure there are others that probably share this disability (when at a bar or restaurant or loud music where I typically cannot communicate in a group setting because I cannot understand what is being said – I have to just sit there and smile). I am a 30 year retired Marine (I have certified disabilities with the Veterans Administration) and served two combat tours in Iraq. This disability, I am sure probably applies to a group larger than the US military… those that have been exposed to loud noises during the course of their career. Once again, I do not recommend Great Smiles if you share this disability. THEY DO NOT CARE/UNDERSTAND."
"6 STARS!! Great staff, everyone is very easy to talk to, knowledgeable, professional, and not to mention entertaining. The office itself it beautiful, cozy, and modern in both technology and design. I had three teeth pulled out (which went swimmingly), no pain, swelling, or soreness durring or after the procedure. I have never had a better experience at a dentist in the 31 years of my life. Thanks Great Smiles!"
