"I have been a patient of Dr. Dhayni at Balboa Dentistry for over 7 years! I am always very happy with the care I receive from the doctor and his staff! Dr. Dhayni is very skilled at his work. I would recommend Balboa Dentistry to anyone. It is worth the visit and cost in my opinion. I have had bad experiences with other dentists in my past. After I found Balboa Dentistry, I promised my self that I would never go anywhere else."
"Do NOT go here. I have been overcharged and told that my insurance is not accepted for every service (now just cleanings and fillings) I’ve ever had here. Nearly every other dentist accepts my insurance but for some reason this office always has “trouble” billing my insurance. In addition, they told me I need a root canal and implant tooth, and before I even had a chance to say anything started lecturing me about the dangers of getting these types of procedures done over the border for cheaper. Telling me horror stories and reinforcing how important it is that I get this work done. I never even mentioned going over the border? And if it’s so important, why has no other dentist ever even mentioned it? I stopped going here over a year ago, and a few months later was sent a mysterious bill for $222 outstanding, even though I paid for the last appointment in full at the time of the appt. I honestly couldn’t find my receipts from my last appt, so I thought it was possible that they had billed insurance and then it came back as this amount outstanding. So I paid it just to move on and be done with it. I am now STILL being sent a $222 bill nearly every month for an “outstanding balance” (no further explanation) and threatened that if I don’t pay within 10 days or contact them, that my account will be placed with a collection agency. I now realize that I should’ve never paid the first $222 as it was clearly a scam. Do not walk, run!"
"DO NOT come here. I have great dental insurance and have never had an issue with out-of-pocket dental appointment expenses, especially when it's a cleaning. I signed a paper during my appointment estimating my services at ~$60 for my new patient cleaning and then weeks later received a bill for $374. In my 36 years of dental cleanings and different dental offices, I've never had to pay more than a co-pay for my cleanings. I cannot fathom how anyone can comfortably go into an appointment with the belief that their routine appointment will cost what they acknowledged in the estimate and then it comes out to 6x that cost and with very good dental insurance."
"I came last year because they had a new patient special. They honored that discounted price, but they quickly turned the visit into a sales pitch. They said I needed hundreds of dollars of fillings and that it was absolutely necessary that I order an $800 night guard through them. They then proceeded to give me two $100 off coupons, as if they were being really kind and giving me a great deal. It was weird. Today, I went to a different dentist. I have no cavities and do not need any fillings. They also said that I don't need a night guard. Balboa dentistry is money hungry and will lie to you. I am so grateful I did not pay for UNNECESSARY FILLINGS. I do not know how or why they have such a good rating. I highly recommend getting a second opinion if you do go here."
"I received excellent service from Dr Dhayni’s team at Balboa Dentistry. The hygienist did an exceptional job on my deep cleaning. She made sure I was comfortable with the anesthetic, and gently explained the procedure as she worked. This method put me at ease. Highly skilled, experienced, and professional group!"
