"I bring my 2 kids here for 10 yrs and never had bad experiences. They even call me a month before to keep me in the loop for follow up. My kids enjoy coming and they are honest to me about the experience as well. Just don't make you appt around their lunch time."

"I been patient in this dentist for years when i was little and it was a horrible experience because the dentist he was very cruel to me and my siblings because he used to hurt me and my siblings when we cry and of course we would cry who doesn’t cry when they go to the dentist when there little kids, well he used to banged me against the couch (where the patient sits when the dentist are doing their cleaning or something) and for years i didnt say anything because i was too scared but not anymore. So I really wouldn’t recommend this place for your kids!"

"Long story but worth reading if you are considering going here. The first time i took my son to this office he was 18 months old. It was his first dentist visit, he had chipped his front tooth and I was getting worried it would turn into a cavity. When I arrived at the office I noticed it was not clean and the waiting area is tiny! I still proceded because it is a medi-cal dentist and I wasn't expecting a 5 star establishment. When my son went back they let me go with him for his X-Rays and his checkup/cleaning. My son did very good, he didn't cry and he just sat still for the whole procedure ( suprising for an 18 month old). When they were finished and we were still in the room with the dentist, he told me my son needed a crown and a filling on another tooth. I said "oh, so the chipped tooth has a cavity?" and he acted confused, and didnt say anything so i said "can you show me the X-Rays?" and still looking confused said " He has cavities he needs a crown" and then he walked out. I thought that was rude and strange. So at the front desk they told me they only do silver crowns because they are approved for medi-cal, and I said I wanted to wait on booking another appointment and try to find somewhere that will do a porceline crown as an out of pocket expense. I found several dentist that would do it but none took Medi-cal and it would all be out-of-pocket and cost around $500 for the visits, x-rays, the crown, and a filling. I saved the money but another expense arrived and I had to re-prioratize. So I no longer had the money. I decided to just go ahead and get the silver crown at Hori-Buyama Pediatric Dental. The second visit was today and I went in and it was still dirty, still small, and very packed with people. They called my sons name and I walked with him to the door and they said "oh you are not allowed back during the procedure" "and i said "well he's not going by himself he just turned 2 years old, I went back with him last time and everything went smoothly" and she said in a rude tone "well thats our policy!" and i said "then we are leaving" and I left. I felt like they were rude to me and the whole operation they are running is shady and it is ludicrus to think that anyone would let a toddler be seen to have a crown and a filling put in, by thierself!! I have watched horror stories about Medi-cal dentist in the san diego area that treat the children terribly, and that is why they don't want the parents in the room. They want to get the children in and out as fast as possible and don't want parents objecting to the way their babies are being handled. I will never go back to that place and I would not recomend anyone to go there unless thier child is old enough to want to go in alone."
