Reviews of Mental Health Cooperative
"Literally don’t go here. I drive an hour to see them. I have changed case workers 3 times with no good reasons. They don’t care about you. The medicine persons schedule changes so when I go she’s never there. They don’t care about you at all. You don’t do appointments but when you do the walk in’s they take forever and don’t do anything. I have to drive an hour to meet my case worker, then drive an hour to talk to them, then drive an hour to see the medicine lady. They don’t care about the teens, that’s why they have a 2.7 rating. They just don’t care and honestly I don’t care, i’m done trying to talk to them when they just don’t care lmao"
"Wish I could've given a higher score. A 5 day for my situation - specific depression which included loss of employment and residing in a dreadful shelter. Staff assured me upon arrival, that I would be linked with a local counseling provider and have my first appt scheduled before departing, since that was the best avenue for me and my greatest concern regarding help was my being uninsured in a new state. Not only did I not receive any specific info about a counselor or a scheduled appt, noone even met with me on my last day at their"CSU" , Noone discussed my discharge plan, asked me how I was doing, nor showed any concern for my well being or my future. In fact, the primary nurse just kept saying to others, while i stood a few feet away, "she has to go now, give her her meds and get her on her bus. So that & the night before was more than anxiety provoking per the rudest non friendly, non communicative employee/nurse there named "Erik" who wouldnt follow up on my request for melatonin to help with sleep. I couldn't wait to leave. I lucked out with a great team of nurses and techs the first few days, including a Darcy (who i initially believed really cared), but the stay turned out to make zero difference in my current situation or why i was there for help in the first place... nor my future outlook. I'm reticent about referring anyone there in the future, unless their uninsured, because that may be their only choice."
"When I can get a live person they are great! The problem is not enough resources, too much need and not enough personnel and When you're in a crisis situation you need immediate help. I have found that when a caseworker does contact you they are inevitably very helpful and do their best with the time and resources they have."
"I have someone close to me who gets her BPD medicine from here. She missed her last appointment because of anxiety of going to that appointment. After going back and forth for days on getting the courage to call, she finally did. She takes Lamictal (among two other things) and it's essential for her overall wellbeing and helps stabilize her moods. They denied her because it's been too long since her last appointment. She made an appointment, they didn't have one available until December. She asked if she could get a refill of her medication to get her until then. They said no. Because of this, her mental health has drastically declined to the point of threatening suicide. She NEEDS this medicine. It is as important to her as insulin is to a diabetic patient. I absolutely cannot believe that when she called, they could not give her a refill, nor any type of resource where she could call places where she could get in quicker. I understand there are protocols when it comes to this stuff, but they should at the very minimum offered her resources. It has been a rough few weeks for her - which is putting it very lightly. I truly do not think this place cares about the mental health of their patients at all. If you want to make it right, contact me immediately."
"I hope for the love of god that this place gets an overhaul as far as the way that it’s run. I very much appreciate that MHC offers help to people with lower income, but to only offer and not follow through is more hurtful than helpful. I would rather pay a bill late and go to any other med provider. I am disappointed, but unsurprised to read other reviews of people with almost the exact circumstances as myself, even from many years prior. You’d think they would work hard to eradicate recurring issues over the years, but that does not seem to be the case. They will cancel your appointments, and also tell you that you cannot get your meds refilled until you have an appointment…that they will cancel… Medical withdrawal makes people (including myself) extremely suicidal, which means that MHC is literally harming more than they are helping. One time I had an appointment that they swore was over the phone (I called and double checked four times that week) only for the nurse to FINALLY call me back after many voicemails and say “Idk why they keep telling people that. Anyway, you’ll need another appointment.” Which I made, and they cancelled day of. I have to take off for these appointments. So I’m losing more money than I am saving with this organization. They will forward you to a nurse for everything, which only sends you to voicemail. I have had to leave an average of four voicemails to get a call back, most I am completely panicking in because I am terrified that I will off myself if I go through withdrawal again. They will not respond to your pharmacy requests, either. I have only been dealing with MHC for a few months and it has been absolute hell on my mental state. I am actively looking for a new psychiatrist that will inevitably be 100% more expensive. Fingers crossed that I can get in before my meds lapse again, because I know MHC will not provide what I need. They have proven that time and time again. I sincerely hope that anyone and everyone else has a different experience than I have."
