Riverside Plaza Dentistry

"Another Update: I went back to my regular dentist today, 3/12/24. They pointed out that they need to keep an eye on my crown because there was a gap left on one side where food particles can get inside, build up bad bacteria, etc. Apparently my nightmare with Riverside plaza dentistry is not over yet. This is a never-ending nightmare. Update: so my last visit on September 14th this year I went in for a regular routine cleaning. I was told that I need an irrigation and that they were going to give me a special antibacterial wash to help prevent from needing a deep cleaning on my next visit. They said my cost would be 65 or 68 dollars. I agreed as I know that deep cleanings are costly so I went along with it. All I got was a regular cleaning. The only difference was instead of giving me a cup with mouthwash to rinse after the prophylaxis, they squirted mouthwash from a syringe in between my teeth and charged my insurance by quad and called that an irrigation. All I received was a regular cleaning. I've been to the dentist all my life and I know better. So I was pissed but I paid the 60 something dollars and left angry. I later called and told them to cancel whatever appointment they scheduled me for. I told them I'd be going back to my old dentist and I would not be coming back there. Fast forward to today, September 27th, I received a bill from my dental insurance company for $454 of services that were not covered. Unbelievable! The nerve of this dentistry! So I put in a complaint with my dental insurance company and explained to them what happened. And now I'm in a dispute over this charge. All for something that should have been considered preventative cleaning but was billed as something else. These people are crooks. They legitimately should not be in business as crooked as they are. I hope they get caught but, even if they do, they probably won't get shut down. Honestly, I believe people like this belong in jail. They're worse than any crook I've ever dealt with in my life. I'm so upset. I cannot afford this bill and was not told that I would be receiving a bill. All I was told was that it was going to cost me the 60 something dollars that I paid and low and behold.... Whatever you do, don't go to this dentistry!!! Beware! There's no way their 4.8 Google rating is legit. That is definitely padded by friends and family! I was charged $68 for services that were considered outside of my regular dental cleaning. After receiving the services, I realized that it was a part of a regular dental cleaning, just not at this dentistry. I don't know why they do things like this but I would get all those services from my usual dentist just included in the regular cleaning. Also, they ask for both your health insurance and dental insurance cards.... I was told it can help cover things that the dental insurance won't cover. But then I found out from someone else that they charged both insurances for the same exact services (x-rays) the last time they went. This is why health care is so unaffordable. I can't support a business like this in good faith and I suggest you do not either. Unless you enjoy paying astronomical prices for health care and dental, I can't support a business that pulls this kind of BS.. cheating the insurance companies! That ultimately is at our cost in the end. I'm done. If you are reading this post and you are looking for an honest dentist, I recommend Dr. Cunning in Montclair. They are the best!"

"I would not recommend this dentist. We just moved to the area and this was our first time at this dentist. They told my husband that he had multiple cavities to be filled (his last dentist saw him 6-months ago and said his teeth looked great) and that it was going to cost over $700 out-of-pocket to fix them. We have coverage for cavities, but they said they "don't do" what our insurance covers. When we asked what our options were they said we could pay out of pocket or get a new dentist. They were now helpful at all. Their prices are all inflated and attach a "discount" to everything. For my cleaning I asked for fluoride and they gave me a package to put on at home. I've ALWAYS had the hygienist or dentist put fluoride on for me. I've never been asked to do it myself. We left the practice. Not worth the games."
