"My first time and never going back. First of all horrible customer service and horrible communication within the employee/ hairstylist. I walked around uptown looking for a hair stylist/ barber to cut my sons hair yesterday 10/17/22 and every stylist was busy so we went into Berlin and I asked if they had anything available for that day. The lady said no but we could make an appointment. I was like okay how much you charge for a toddler hair cut. This fat lady with bad blonde hair said $12. I honestly thought it was too good to be true but if she said it I believed it. When I made my appointment she begged me if we had to cancel to call because they drive from home to work. So I felt that I had to go and not cancel. Keep this in mind I work from 6am-2:30pm my appointment was at 3:30 I rush home because my husband had to work at 3:30 and he needed the car to go to work. We only have one car. So I was going to walk home. I came in at 3:10 for my appointment I told the guy that if the hairstylist was not in the hair Solon it was okay and we could reschedule for other appointment because my husband had to work and I was going to walk home. He call the girl with the red hair and she said that she was 10 min away. But I waited 20 min and when I got there I asked her if she wanted my son to sit with me or by himself. And she was like with you. This chick was like touching my hair Ioke she was going to do something and I’m like uuummm I’m here for my son. She was like but for the color you want the hair needs to bleach. My son is two like why would I want to bleach my sons hair. So I’m like no I just want a hair cut for my son. At that point we were both confused so we went into the front desk for more info. This guy was confused and ask who made my appointment and I told him I don’t remember it was a lady that was by herself in the yesterday in afternoon. Then he asked the girl with the red hair since her appointment was not going arrive in a hour if she could cut my sons hair. She said “yes” but I’m thinking they already lied about the appointment they must of lied about the price. Then I said the lady yesterday told me $12 for toddler hair but. They both said no it’s $35. So the guy asked the girl with the red hair if she wanted to still do it for $12 she was like “no” so at that point I was trying to explain my situation to the guy in the front desk. He literally didn’t even care about my situation. the girl with the red hair literally went outside when I left and sat in her car. BAD BAD service. Uptown Whittier has lots of option search somewhere else."

"Very friendly service from everyone in shop. Mary Alcala is a very talented hairdresser and my kids love it too! My 11 yr old daughter loves the fancy atmosphere and wad happy with her hairstyle. 14 yr old son had a hard time managing his very thick hair that was growing out. Mary worked with him and his hair and ended up with the perfect haircut for him. Very personable lovely lady."
