Reviews of Neihule Flagship Salon
"I’m a little sad that this school is so complicated. I’ve been calling to schedule a tour and haven’t been able to get an answer. I’m looking to start as soon as possible so I decided to come in (I don’t live near by) first thing it’s in the heart of Downtown LA and they don’t have parking. I had to pay $10 dollars for parking just to be turned away. I was told they only do 2 tours a day one person per tour and they were fully booked! When speaking to the receptionist she was nice but offered little to no help."
"I asked the girl FIVE Times how much is this going to cost ? “ it’s in the book “ with no book to show in sight ! then she finally gets up & grabs this book by the front desk with prices yet none of the options say how much it is for what I’m getting done.. I ended up doing acrylic & gel & gel on feet costing well over $200 . Two nails broke next day . I called & they said it’s $20 each nail plus design fees . After paying about $50 I got my nails fixed ; only for one of them to break again! She also did all gel on one of my fingers & still charged me full price (as she would if I got gel and acrylic. ) She mentioned this would be the most durable nail which was true . The other nails were very hollow & light can be seen through them . The all gel nail was solid with no light penetration. l even still have a few nails as l want to replicate the all gel nail yet with a professional nail artist that is upfront with me with the work their doing. I understand it’s art & it can come pricy ; yet I got bait switched with the front desk telling me I can get a manny petty for $100 .. as I’m getting my nails done l ask how much is this going to cost ? It’s in the book then changes the subject or she goes to talks to other clients & workers . Talk about being stuck there feeling awkward & embarrassed . Salon experience seemed like a joke . 7 1/2 hours & the foot massage was no more than someone rubbing lotion on your feet charging up the ying yang .. don’t even get me started with the parking. Costed me so much money putting money in the Meters .. about $20 ... not valet but for the meter about a mile away from the salon . All in all this experience has left me very stressed , & embarrassed & all these charges add up so quickly! All in all , I didn’t even feel like I was being pampered or well taken care; for the heavy price this is unacceptable. Please be up front with your customers in what your prices are for the service ahead of time. What if the customer can’t afford it ? In a way I kind of feel I have been robbed. I originally called planned on paying $100 when I spoke to the women on the phone then give them $20 tip but I ended up paying over $300 for a mani pedi that didn’t last a week. It’s not worth the stress or the $$$$"
"I went here to get nails done for my sister's bday, we traveled in from NYC. We both got acrylic tips. They looked really nice when done, however literally one week later, one of the nails popped off. Since I am already back in NYC, i just glued it back on myself. But now 3 days later two more nails popped off. I then decided to call the salon as this is supposed to be a high end establishment and the nails were very expensive. The girl who answered the phone pretty much said that since it is more than a week they can not give a refund (it has been about 11 days, but it as only 6 days after that the first nail came off). She then said that I will get free manicure in the system, but that doesnt really help me as I live in NYC and rarely travel to LA. When i mentioned this she just repeated "we dont give refunds after a week and said well what do you want me to do about it". I would expect a higher level of service if you are charging over $100 for your services. I have been to hole in the wall nail salons that have have charged less than half of what I paid here for acrylic nails and they lasted way longer than 1 week. If you are going for any other services have at it, but I would definitely not recommend this place for tips or any intricate nail designs."
"Warning! I paid for a $94 Gel Extension Manicure here and 3 nails cracked and broke over the weekend within 2 days. Their desk woman Katie wants to know why I didn't speak out sooner but they were close on the weekend. This place is getting a bad rep amongst the beauty and fashion community and it is well deserved. This place does not stand by their work nor offer guarantees and instead try to shove you onto more sub par aestheticians. Why would I want free work from a bad nail technician, clearly the place is ran poorly that they don't understand I do not trust their work and you should not either. Annie or Elena or whoever else may or may not do gel extensions - a highly specialized branch of nail art btw. They use very cheap materials and then will not offer a refund when they see their employees may need some extra training or better materials but they are horrible and not fair at all want me to burn gas to go down and get more money WASTED. Why would I go back there? This is pathetic. Refund me."
"I usually get my hair cut here and have always loved the service and cut. I recently tried their new brow service and was very happy. A small mistake was made and my brow lady couldn't make my initial appointment and was given a complementary brow shaping when they rescheduled. That was very nice of them! The brow service was actually very speedy which is great when you're on the run and a tint service was included which I had never tried before but liked it so much I'll be doing this every time I get my brows done. The total would have been around $45."
