Reviews of Calistoga Bikeshop
"Would not recommend paying the extra money for the Cool Wine Tour. Rent the bikes (the e-bike upgrade is worth the money) and choose your own wine adventure. Calistoga Bike Shop is a good bike rental place but not for wine tasting tours. 2 star rating is due to how poorly the experience was organized, communicated (endless, confusing texts, random calls, and emails) and to top it off, the bike shop owner made it feel like it was our fault. He acknowledged there “were issues.” Poor customer service. I do want the say that the other bike staff were very helpful. They need to stick with bike sales, repairs and rentals."
"Came in with my son to look at bikes. They were AMAZING. They helped us understand what we needed and let us test ride numerous bikes to narrow down fit. Heck, they even built the bike I was considering while I went to lunch so I could test ride it. I have nothing but outstanding things to say about the crew at the Calistoga Bike Shop - They were super knowledgeable and customer service oriented. Amazing inventory and no pressure sales tactics. We bought 2 bikes and will totally come back for service work!"
"Brad, Marshall, John, and everyone else at Calistoga Bike Shop are nothing short of amazing. Super helpful for bike newbies and experts alike. My husband has been a mountain biker for 20 years but I'm new to it (I was a road biker for 12 yrs but that's way different than mtn biking) so I had a lot of questions when we were picking out our bikes. Everyone was so patient with me and they were excited I was getting into the sport. I have been to many bike shops in the past and usually find the staff not very helpful to newbies. I get it, most people are probably looking and won't ever buy. However, the team at Calistoga Bike Shop isn't like that at all. They are friendly, helpful, super bike nerds (which I say with so much love because my husband is too) and they will help you with whatever you may need or think you need. They will steer you away from something that isn't going to work for your riding style, and will work with you to find something you'll love. I told Brad that I am cautious going down hill super fast, and he took 20 minutes to discuss the different components that would make me more confident riding downhill. It was informative, and most of all, made me want to buy our new mountain eBikes from them. We just put in our order today and I'm looking forward to many more interactions with them in the coming weeks, months and years as we bring our bikes in for service. You won't be disappointed supporting this locally owned and operated shop. They're top notch."
"From the minute I lugged my heavy cruiser bike into Calistoga Bikeshop to the minute I paid my bill, I was inspired by the intelligent professionalism and personal attention received by Brad and then Jim. Brad met me at the door to pick up my bike and explained services he could provide that would ensure the shipping of my bike would meet the highest standard possible. Within 2 days my bicycle was tuned, boxed, and ready for shipment, and I received a prompt text notifying me. When Jim checked me out, he explained each part of the invoice and described personally how he had brought my bicycle up to a higher standard of operating. This bike shop may be located in the middle of a small international town, but the owner and his team offer service on a rich personal, professional level that will leave you coming back for more! Salut!! Many thanks!! Anita"
"Doing the self guided wine tour with bikes was the best day ever! Brad was very helpful in setting up our itinerary, glad we took his suggestion to do 2 versus 3 tastings to have a more relaxed schedule. From the shop we headed north to the Old Faithful Geyser. After enjoying the show it was further north to Bennett Lane for our first tasting, what a stunning setting under the wisteria (pro tip, stop at Oakville Market for your picnic fixings, we enjoyed a bottle of rosé with our lunch at Bennett Lane after the tasting). Then back south through Calistoga to Twomey Cellars for our second tasting. Another scenic spot. If you buy additional wine the bike shop will pick up and take it back to the shop for you. The bikes were fantastic, easy to use and there are a lot of great bike paths in and around Calistoga which the shop gives you an excellent map of to use through the day. Seriously this day was like paradise not much could have made it more perfect!"
