"I started out with Cali Dental when they first opened a couple of years ago and they were great. Couple of years later and they opened the Paso location so I switched since I live in Paso, like literally right down the street. Purely out of convenience! Worst decision I've ever made! I left paso location totally frustrated and annoyed by not only the dentist's attitude and lack of compassion but also her unrealistic dental plan and expectations! I was not willing to go 4 months without teeth. I called SLO office back up and asked if they would take me back and they said if course. They had me an appointment within 2 weeks time. I came to my appointment and the dentist did not agree with the prior dental plan. She gave me her recommendation and I agreed with her and then she proceeded to begin the work that same day! The dentist had a very gentle touch! If the water hadn't splashed (not a lot, but to be expected it was my front tooth she was working on) in my face, I could have fallen asleep. I highly recommend Cali Dental in SLO! Caring, professional, empathetic, compassionate, respectful, and quick appointments! I'll take the 30 min drive any day of the week to be treated with dignity!"
"Had such a wonderful experience here! Felt very supported and cared for generally. Everything was concise and done well. Roxanne (one of the dental assistants) was especially awesome! Personable, kind, reassuring, on top of it! Thanks, CaliDental!"
"Doctor and most of the staff were nice, but impersonal and had to be prompted to explain the work that they were doing to me. They told me that one of my fillings might cause some sensitivity as it was close to the nerve, and I had to ask about when I would know it was an issue. They then informed me, after 3 fillings were done, that my teeth would be sensitive for up to 6 weeks after the procedure! That might be common knowledge for them, but I didn't know as it has been a while, over 4 years, since my last filling so some warning of that would be nice. It might just be me, but when someone is working in my mouth, I would like to know what they are doing as they are doing it. At one point, the doctor was using some tool, I still don't know what tool, around the base of my teeth where it meets gums. It was so painful, and the doctor never described what or why she was doing that. Lastly, while an assistant was putting in my fillings, 2 different times a different assistant asked for the help of the assistant that was filling my teeth. That felt unprofessional to me and to her for trying to rush her to finish on my teeth so she can rush over to someone else. After the fillings were in place she left with all haste, even though I told her that the fillings felt very rough on the inside. I had to wait until the Doctor returned and let her know and she smoothed them out. I also thought that I had scheduled this as a cleaning and checkup, but they never did a cleaning before or after the fillings. All of this does not mention the fact that I showed up 15 minutes early, they had me fill out the EXACT SAME paperwork that I had already filled out online which I finished about 5 minutes before my appointment time and they didn't call me to the back till 30 minutes after my appointment time then they sat me down and I had to wait another 10-15 minutes before they came to do x-rays, then 15 more minutes after the x-rays for the doctor to show up, then after she numbed me for the fillings, she left for ~25 minutes! She said she was going to give the numbing agent time to work, but it took effect after about 5-10 minutes. Then after the Doctor removed the cavities, she had an assistant do the fillings and it took ~10 minutes for the assistant to show up to do the fillings. You get the picture. I spent more time sitting in my chair doing nothing than they spent working on me All of this is to say that I did not feel respected as a person while I was there. I was a job to do and to work around. I am paying to be there. I should at least be respected as a paying customer while I am there. They need to spread out their appointments more and respect people's time while they are there. My appointment was from 9am-10am, I left at 11:30. What if I had work later or plans? Thankfully I didn't, but some else with a busier schedule would be screwed causing them to have to leave in the middle of the appointment because CaliDental didn't respect their time."
"I had an exceptional experience at Cali Dental. From the moment I stepped in, the warm welcome from the front desk staff set a positive tone. The dental assistant's friendliness instantly put me at ease, and the dentist's informative and patient approach made my visit truly reassuring. Their clear explanations and willingness to address all my questions showed their dedication to patient care. I'm grateful for such a friendly and professional team who made my dental visit comfortable and informative. Highly recommend this practice!"
"I left this dental clinic with my mouth looks like got punch by a heavy weight. Bleeding from the dentist hand work. He did my refill (2) and deep clean right side for a super fast 15 minutes. Even under anesthesia it still feels like hell. I stayed for more than 2 hours but the job only lasted for 30 minutes. It’s 7 pt to a dentist ratio. Time pressure so he treats your mouth like a toilet bowl. If he can put all hands in my mouth to finish it fast he will. Photo shows my right gums were in flame. They have high review here but very low in yelp."
