Reviews of The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show - Knoxville, TN
"Staff and actors done a great job. Felt overly drawn out and became boring after about 2 hours. Food was horrible for the price paid. Cheesecake and salad was the only thing worth eating. Poor quality food ruined the rest of event. I wish we had just left before it was over and went somewhere to eat. Instead we came home and cooked afterwards."
"Don't waste your money. While I admire the fact that the cast worked hard, the production values left much room for improvement, especially at $131 admission for two. First, the Dinner Detective organization instructed there was a dress code for attendance. No jeans and no T-shirts, but nice jeans were OK. Many sets of denim jeans and T-shirts were in attendance. One of the characters in the performance, a "detective", was wearing faded jeans. Not acceptable. Another character was wearing a sequined sport coat that had seen better days 5 years ago. It was threadbare in large patches, looked ridiculous and spoiled the performance they were trying to achieve. Food was average. The "private bar" in the banquet room charged $13.75 for a cocktail or a glass of wine. Plus tip. A cocktail from the restaurant in the lobby was nine bucks and change. It was worth the trip to walk a bit. The service staff were excellent. My biggest complaint was that our table determined the suspect and we all submitted the name. We weren't selected as successfully determining the suspect as we didn't have enough "details" on our form. I suggest you select another event for an evening out. My tickets stated the event began at 6PM, but then I received an email stating that was a mistake and the event began at 7PM. This was on a workday evening and that hour pushback makes a difference for folks who need to get up in the morning for work. Keep your cash in your wallet. Go listen to some live music instead. Go to a movie. This show isn't worth your time. Oh, and they promised a free shot glass for every 5 star review they received. So I wouldn't trust all those 5 star reviews you see here."
"Had a terrific time! This was my first murder mystery experience and it did not disappoint! I would highly recommend anyone check it out! It was so much fun! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful!"
"Don’t waste your time or money! Absolutely horrible experience! Upon arriving, we were told our table wasn’t ready yet and there had been a “mix up”. The mix up being they overbooked the show! They tried to sit us at two separate tables, then tried cramming us into another table that was already completely full of people sitting shoulder to shoulder. We decided not to stay and try to eat like that and make everyone miserable! No one even apologized or tried to make things right. After multiple attempts to contact someone and explain what happened we were told by Whitney Axley that she didn’t see any problem with the seating and not sure what else could’ve been done. Horrible customer service and extremely disappointing!"
"So much fun! Audience engagement was off the rails and food was great. Highly recommend."
