"Dr. Matlock was truly wonderful. He listens and cares. The staff here are super friendly and inviting. I enjoy this VA Hospital 100 times more than the one in Nashville."
"This is absolutely pathetic. They don't allow appointments so everyone is referred to go to Urgent Care. After over and hour of sitting in the room and NO ONE has even talked to me yet. Then a young lady comes in and tells me there is nothing they can do and I have to go to Nashville VA hospital to receive the help that I need because they only have one doctor. The whole time I am watching this so called doctor sitting there telling jokes to the four nurses. How is this considered health care? So I push this all the way up. We as veterans can only go to one place to get medical attention but they don't even have the means to give correct medical treatment."
"My experience at this VA facility was absolutely amazing. It began at the Emergency Room, which is known as the Urgent Care for some reason, and continued through some tests in the morning. For a first hospital experience, it was great. The doctors and nurses were all very professional and friendly. They made me feel like they actually care. This was somewhat frustrating, in hindsight, because I have never left a regular VA appointment and felt like I have received care, & have usually left with more complaints that when I arrived. I wish I could receive all the care I need from these doctors & nurses, especially Nurse Jackie on the third floor – SHE IS AWESOME! The campus is very beautiful and quiet. I was surprised at how quiet the entire hospital was. The halls weren’t crowded at all. Maneuvering the hospital was a bit problematic, but I had to just get the hang of layout and the oddball floor numbering. If this place was not over a hundred miles away from me, I would go there for everything."
"The staff talk to veterans like they are trash, so sickening to witness. I will say, occasionally you will come across a nice desk lady... rarely. Psych department is a joke, i think it's the most need department in the VA. The medical professionals don't get to the bottom of the situation/s and blame the patient for some other bogus reason why treatment isn't working. They just prescribed meds...no actual therapy, how will anything get solved? I just hope that this location gets organized and gets rid of the lazy employees who's faces look like they hate their job. Veterans deserve better."
"My father relapsed and tried to commit suicide and was seen by this facility. Not only were they extremely rude, but they forced us (his daughters) to come and get him from their hospital BEFORE he was no longer a danger to himself. The nurse made me feel like they couldn’t wait to get rid of him. The lack of care and concern from this facility is extremely disappointing. Now that he’s being seen somewhere they care and are knowledgeable, we are getting close to dementia, something that could have never been diagnosed in this facility. They didn’t even care to figure out why he was so disoriented. Our veterans deserve more than what this facility has to offer!!!!!"
