"I had a really disappointing experience with Blush Makeup Studio in Monterey. The manager, Liz, called me to inform me that someone else wanted the same date as I did. She insisted that in order to secure the date, I had to pay a deposit. So, I went ahead and paid $474 as a deposit. Five days later, Liz sent me the contract, and there were several terms that I didn't agree with. One of the policies stated that I had to give them permission to use photos taken by my personal photographer for their social media and advertisements. And if I didn't agree, they would charge me a whopping $500. I asked them, "Since when do I have to pay for not wanting to be on social media?". Naturally, I decided to cancel my appointment and requested a refund of my deposit. However, Liz flat out refused, saying there was no way they would return my money. I found it incredibly unfair, especially since I hadn't even signed the contract yet. I tried to reason with them multiple times, but they remained stubborn. So, I took matters into my own hands and made a dispute claim with my bank to get my deposit back. Even then, Liz still refused to give me my money back. It was so frustrating! That same day, I informed them that I would have to take legal action against them, in which they agreed to take it to court. This whole situation has caused so much stress, and it's the last thing any bride needs just a few months before her wedding."

"I had my makeup done in studio by Stacie for a wedding I was attending in Monterey. I showed Stacie pictures of other times I had gotten my makeup done professionally for ideas and I feel like she did a great job! It was a very hot day but my makeup stayed put for over 12 hours. I would definitely considering booking again! Thank you!"

"Marissa and Lydia did my hair and makeup for my welcome party and my wedding and they were both incredible! They both worked with me to give me exactly what I was looking for both days, and listened when I wanted to make a few changes after the trial. Marissa made my hair look amazing and knew exactly how to work with extensions, and Lydia did an amazing "glam" look without it looking too un-natural and was even able to work with my usually very sensitive eyes so I could still wear lashes. More than being talented artists, they're both amazing people! The morning of your wedding is already so stressful and having their support, good energy, and laughs makes a BIG difference. Highly recommend working with Marissa and Lydia!"

"I hired Blush to do hair/make up for myself, my bridesmaids, my mom, and my grandma the day of my wedding. When I went in for my trial I was a complete frazzled mess and they were incredibly understanding and worked with the little guidance I gave them. I loved exactly what they did at the trial and even ended up buying extensions for the first time at the recommendation of the hair stylist. On my actual wedding day, we had 6 hair/make up artists and they were a well oiled machine! Every single one of my bridesmaids looked so beautiful and no one had cake face or looked fake. I hardly ever wear make up in my daily life, so I wanted a very natural look (even if that meant some blemishes were somewhat visible). I've told probably a dozen make up artists this at previous events and they never executed on it as perfectly as she did. I felt so beautiful and the extensions that were recommended at my trial looked amazing!! They also gave everyone a little touch up bag to use during the wedding. Huge bonus was that we finished an hour ahead of schedule and I got to sip a mimosa, eat some food, and just chat with my girls! Totally stress free experience and the quality was top notch."

"I booked Blush for my makeup before my elopement. I used a company to set up the elopement, had some hiccups along the way. This salon was the best part the entire day. My videographer forgot my beautiful fresh flower bouquet back in San Francisco, we were getting married in Carmel so it was too far for her to go back and get them. The girls @ Blush, actually went to Trader Joe’s and made me a bouquet for my elopement that was only a couple of hours later. This was October 8, 2021. Finally got around to posting this review, my makeup was bomb and they went above & beyond for my special day!!! Thank you girls!! ❤️"
