Sweet Mountain Retreat

"My family and I came for a week Jan. 19-26…a much needed get away hoping to see snow. We did! It snowed and the view from this cabin was breathtaking! It snowed for a couple of days and the cabin was delightful. Downstairs had ping pong, air hockey, arcade games and a theatre room that was awesome! We truly enjoyed that room so much. Decorated beautifully, it was a great way for us to all enjoy being together at night while in the cabin. The main floor has a fireplace but it was electric with a small flame but did not give off any heat. We were all looking forward to the fireplace we saw in the picture not knowing it did not produce any heat. I contacted Mindy, the owner of the cabin and she immediately responded and apologized for any confusion about the fireplace as that was an important part of our trip. She tried to accommodate us with 2 other cabins she had that had a fireplace. I appreciated her trying to make it right for us as she knew it was important to us. We looked at the other 2 cabins but really loved the area and beautiful view of Sweet Mountain Retreat. I let her know that we appreciated it but we were going to stay put as we really loved the cabin view and all amenities except the fireplace. She graciously gave us a $200 refund for our inconvenience, which we received in 2 days! We greatly appreciated that as she didn’t have to do anything. Mindy also reached out and said she updated the info. on the VRBO sight stating electric fireplace but no heat. This way there would be no confusion for anyone in the future. She also stated at the end of our trip that she has spoken with her fireplace specialist and is putting a new unit in with realistic flame and the fireplace will also produce heat! That is going to be so great for anyone visiting this cabin in the cold, winter months! I can tell Mindy truly cares about making people happy with their cabin stay. I truly do appreciate that. We have been coming to this area for 25 years now and this cabin had a beautiful view and wonderful amenities. We enjoyed having our coffee in the mornings and taking in the gorgeous smoky mountains! You will enjoy this cabin, especially with the fireplace upgrade to come!"

"This cabin was an absolute dream! It was perfectly furnished and stocked with everything we needed and more. This kitchen was equipped of everything we needed to cook there, the bed linens were luxuriously soft, beds very comfortable, views from the balcony are stunning, and the gaming tables kept both my parents and teens entertained! You can tell the owner takes great pride in this home. It is very well kept and super clean. The owner was very responsive to all of our questions we had about visiting the area. We are already planning our return trip."

"Almost perfect except for the fake fireplace. But overall, a fun place to bring two teenagers, boys. The game room, theatre, and hot bath keep them occupied."
