About the Bolivar General Hospital
Bolivar General Hospital, located at 650 Nuckolls Road in Bolivar, Tennessee, is a comprehensive healthcare institution offering services in the fields of medicine, health, hospital care, pharmacy, and retail. It is the only Accredited Heart Care Center in the State of Tennessee, recognized for its quality program by the American College of Surgeons. As a not-for-profit healthcare system, the institution's mission is to provide essential care to the community.
The West Tennessee Medical Group, a multi-specialty group practice with over 100 providers, operates within the hospital, serving the healthcare needs of West Tennesseans through more than 20 locations in the region. The organization's history dates back 72 years to August 11, 1950, when Jackson-Madison County General Hospital first opened its doors to patients. The hospital was established during World War II to address the growing population's need for modern healthcare facilities in Jackson, TN.
In response to the evolving healthcare landscape, Bolivar General Hospital now offers TeleHealth appointments, allowing patients to consult with their providers remotely. Additionally, the institution welcomes new healthcare providers, such as Colton Simbeck, FNP, to its Wound Care Martin facility at Volunteer Hospital.
The hospital encourages swimming as a beneficial workout for individuals of all ages and fitness levels, highlighting its advantages as a low-impact exercise. Patients and visitors are invited to provide feedback on the institution's website to improve their experience.

Reviews of Bolivar General Hospital
"I have always had good care at this hospital. We got good care last night when I brought my 3 year old grandson."
"Dr. Wilson is the absolute worst doctor I have ever encountered. If you go and he is the doctor working I would suggest that you turn around and go somewhere else. Any doctor that's asks the patient what do you want me to do should not be a doctor. The nurses were so very professional and helpful and kind to my daughter so I am thankful for that. He said my daughter sprained her ankle and bruised her knee and didn't want to give her any pain meds. She had to suffer with the pain until I could get her to campbells clinic the following Monday because she in fact tore her acl, mcl, meniscus and there wasn't anything wrong with her ankle. She had to go through 2 surgeries and that idiot literally asked me what I wanted him to do when she was screaming in pain and tried to give her ibuprofen as if I could not have done that at the gym when it happened, as if it was a minor injury and she was just there for meds like some kind of 17 yr old junkie....Do better!"
"Hate to even give this place one star. Very rude and inexperienced staff. You go to an emergency room for comfort and care not to have some older white woman at the desk 11pm on 2/28/23 talk to my wife like a dog when she is having complications."
"It was quite literally the worst experience in my life. I don’t like going to the doctors so if I go something is wrong and all they did was keep staring at my boyfriend like he beats me Im going to go out on a limb and say its because he is black with a ripped shirt (he was working outside and didnt have time to change because I could not breathe changing his shirt was the least of his worries) I was there because I could not breath and all they kept saying was I was anxious and distressed and it seems like I didnt want to go home and its all over my face well if you could not breath how would you act!? My foot turned purplish blue when I went home and I would have rather laid on my couch and let the good lord take me home than to EVER go to this hospital again!"
"The nurses are always amazing but the doctors..... are always "judgey" and in a rush. They don't take the time to get to know the issue and had a doc push his finger into my chest wall contusion and i also had pneumonia. He said, "Is this where it hurts?" After I just specified that's where it hurt. It was like he didn't believe me.... he was not very nice. Wouldn't recommend going here."
