Reviews of Comfort Suites
"This place needs refurbishment desperately. The room was clean, but wow, do they need maintenance! Most of the shower is calcified, so only some of the streams work. There was a big hole above the mirror in the bathroom, they didn't patch it, they just put a too small plate over it. The television only got one channel! The remote doesn't work except for volume. Instead, there is a toggle button on the back of the tv to turn it on/off and change the one "channel". The couch in the "suite" was freyed. The freezer was frozen over. The outside garbage cans were overflowing. Hire a maintenance person and have a manager go room by room to create what would be a HUGE punch list! The staff was nice, but Choice Hotels should remove this from their Comfort Suites brand."
"I submitted a review but for some reason it is not posted. Do not stay at the Comfort Suites On North Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro, TN. I reached out to corporate after my stay and though they took my concerns and provided me a case number, in the end I was informed there was nothing they could do because the hotels are franchised, but had reached out to the manager to call me. No such call has come through on my end. I have been trying to get in touch with the manager at the hotel and finally reached Michael. Michael informed me that there was a note from the manager, Harry, giving me 20% off my room stay for my troubles. He said the manager wasn’t in and he didn’t know when the manager would be in “since he was the manager and can come in when he wants”. Followed by having to remind Michael he needed to be professional, he told me I could leave a message on the manager’s answering machine. I voiced that I did not have confidence in leaving a message since no one had called me back thus far. Michael transferred me to leave a message on a full answering machine. The stay was the worst ever. I was in town for a big conference and finding hotels was limited. In two days at this Comfort Suites I had to be transferred to three different rooms. The first night I checked into my room only to find what appeared to be little dog or big rat feces on the floor. I contacted the front desk who moved me to another room on the same floor. The room smelled damp in mildewy but I sprayed Lysol and I hoped it would go away. As it grew later and the room got warmer, I realized the air condition unit was broken. When I went to adjust the temperature I walked across a sopping wet floor. It was late so I endured the night and ask for a room change the next morning. I wish I had not as I suffered a scratchy/hoarse voice for over a week. I was moved to the fourth floor and that room was actually cleaner. However, I had to fight the smell of marijuana in the halls. I should have known what type of stay it would be when I pulled into the parking lot and saw people sitting outside on the benches and parking curb drinking bottles of beer. Take my advice, find other lodging arrangements. Don’t call Harry the manager or reach out to Choice Hotels. Neither are helpful. BTW, I requested a full refund for the great inconvenience. I guess Harry thought 20% was sufficient. No compromise and still no return phone call."
"Comfort Suites N. Thompson Ln in Murfreesboro, TN was the absolute worst Choice Hotel I've ever stayed at. My room had to be changed to a total of three different rooms during my two-night stay. The first night room change was due to dog feces (or huge rat droppings) being on the floor. The room was obviously not that clean but the dog feces deemed it totally unacceptable. The same night I was switched to a second room that smelled of mold and mildew. I was in town for a conference, and therefore limited to finding another hotel on that date, along with being tired I tried to endure. Later that night, as I walked across the floor to adjust the air conditioner that wasn't working I walked through soaking wet carpet from half the distance of the bed all the way to the air conditioning unit. This explained the smell which resulted in me losing my voice for a little over a week. The next morning they changed my room to the fourth floor which was actually pretty clean. The only issue then was the smell of marijuana through the hallway. I checked out as soon as morning came. I contacted Choice Hotel on October the 2nd who read comments to me from the hotel noting room findings and validating my concerns, said they would contact the hotel and someone would get back with me within 24 to 48 hours. On Friday I attempted to call again but was told the computer system was down. I called Choice back again today to be informed that the hotel tried to call me (which was not true) and that each Hotel was individually franchised so there was nothing the 800 number could do but try to reach out to the hotel to contact me again. I called the hotel myself and spoke with Michael who explained that they gave me 20% off ($19) my bill and basically that was all that was going to happen. Since Michael had already explained he was not the manager I told him that I wanted to speak with the manager as it was obvious there was nothing he could do about it. He continued to try to cut me off and then told me he would switch me to the manager, Harry. I asked when Manager Harry would be in and explain that it has been two weeks since I called and I didn't have faith that Harry would call me back. Michael said he did not know because since he was the manager he could come in whenever he wanted and since it is Friday he likely won't be in today. After my attempts to remind Michael that he needed to be professional, he switched me to Harry's voicemail which was full and I was unable to leave a message. I tried to call the hotel back but of course no one is answering. I would assume due to caller ID and they can see who is calling as well as Michael's lack of power. Do not stay at this hotel. People drinking outside the building and in the parking lot sitting on the curbs as well as dirty rooms and the smell of marijuana truly make this a low rate, low class hotel. The only plus was the female representative at the front desk who demonstrated a level of care and compassion and apologized for the challenges faced during my stay."
"Absolutely horrible! I stopped at 3am on my way to Kansas. I was exhausted and needed to sleep for a few hours. It took 10 minutes for the manager to open the front door and let me in. Hardly a word to me checking me in. I paid them $161.00, and that was supposed to be with a discount. I received a key for my room, at this point about 30 minutes had passed ( again now it's about 3:30am) and the key doesn't work. So I am standing in the hallway at 3:40, can't get in the room. Can't get anyone to answer the phone for another 15 minutes. It's around 4am, finally the manager answers the phone and comes up with another key that doesn't work. He tells me to wait and he will be back. Again, next trip key doesn't work he's going to get me a new room. Goes downstairs again (about 4:30am now if not later). Finally about 15 minutes later. He returns and tells me to follow him to a different room. Doesn't ask to help me with any of my bags, just walks away. Gets me to new room and leaves. The television doesn't work (I can't sleep without one on when I am alone). There is only 1 roll of toilet paper, and it's almost empty. There is no shampoo, only lots of conditioner, and no working USB plug to charge my phone. After tossing and turning, not sleeping I give up and head to take a shower. No hot water. Now I have been here 5 1/2 hours, I haven't slept, couldn't effectively shower and I have paid almost $200.00 for this privilege. I tell the manager on duty, and crickets...The GM was supposed to call me. Its been 2 weeks, not a word. Never again, never again."
"Rooms were nice, Bed was soft. We slept great!! Now, Key cards didn’t work for the first 10/20 minutes of our stay. Made getting in and ready for dinner a challenge. Later on after they started working (one of the two) cards stopped working completely. Tub was very dirty on bottom. I wanted a bath, went to the hot tub room instead. That was a wonderful time. Back to the room, There was TP in the commode when we arrived. Looked like maybe something was wiped up (meant to be flushed) nothing in commode but paper, thankfully! Dog boarding place next door: Barking all night long. I do recommend this location because of the closeness to EVERYTHING, the very helpful staff, the hot-tub room and breakfast!! Breakfast offered many different items including blueberry waffle mix!"
