Residence Inn by Marriott Nashville Green Hills

"My wife and I always get excited when this Residence Inn isn't overpriced and has availability, but we always leave thinking the location is far more trouble than it's worth. Parking is expensive and you are not given a choice so be prepared to add $50 to your room after making a reservation. Having guests while staying is also taxing as they have to pay to park as well. The mall being so close to the hotel is nice but we rarely visit unless we have to. I'd much rather drive a short distance and stay at a different location with less headaches and a smaller hit to my wallet."

"This is a very nice hotel in a great location. Staff was very friendly. My only complaint is there is construction going on across the street, during all hours of the night, and it could be heard on the front side of the hotel."

"Overall, not a great experience. We have stayed at similar hotels with the IGH hotel chains, and this hotel was very like it in the style and set up. Although very disappointed for various reasons. The parking set up was confusing and left little direction on how to navigate the garage or how exactly the ticket situation would work. Once we finally parked on level 2, we couldn’t get into the building from that level without a key card. The lobby was on the 1st floor and the elevator on the 2nd level only went up so we had to walk the whole garage with our luggage out to the front down into level 1, to even get to the lobby. Upon checking in the receptionist was initially kind in greeting us, but then proceeded to give me a hard time for making “demands”, as she put it. Multiple times, over and over again. I tried to use the Marriott app on our drive in, to do early check in. I received an email to do this. It was not a functional app and gave me no way to check in. It promoted me to ask for “requests” or “accommodations” and I selected all my items for towels, bath mats, and a blanket. Which I was confused by as these are items normally in the rooms. Again, I was promoted by the app to do so. I ended up waiting to check in, in person since the app wasn’t working. The receptionist would not let it go, that I apparently asked way too much of her by requesting these items be in my room and continued to laugh and talk over me while I tried to explain how the app didn’t work. She mentioned that she thought I was “an old lady who must not know how to work the app” since I continued to re-select those options on the app, and it would notify her over and over. I was growing increasingly frustrated since we had a very difficult day and was looking forward to just checking in. Her name started with a Y, and I cannot remember the full name. Very disappointing. Lastly, above all things. We were charged 3x separate times for parking. The receptionist the night we checked in charged us $20 for parking as she said, and then we checked out the next morning and we’re charged $32 by the new receptionist, and then charged another $32 to leave the parking garage. This needs to be rectified by hotel management. I received 2x invoices for parking, and the random charge for the $20 parking the night we checked in. Overall the hotel was clean and quiet, and the location was fine. But the service was inappropriate. I didn’t appreciate the way we were spoken to and treated upon checkin. You never know the issues someone is facing in that moment. I expected way better, Marriott."

"I have been here for a week. The rooms are pretty clean. The staff is nice. They serve a hot breakfast all week.The parking is secure and you park on whatever level you are residing on. There is major construction going on across the street. Machinery and grinding noises start at 2-3am. The jack hammer drill starts at first light 6:45-7AM and continues non stop until about 4pm, Mon-Fri. It affects all rooms. Otherwise, the hotel is very quiet. The only complaint is that there is no hot water. No kidding. Luke warm is the best you will get. You have to run the shower 20-30 mins ahead of taking the shower to get the warm water. Not even warm enough to fog the mirror."
