"The person behind the counter was impolite and unprofessional. The clerk resisted eye contact and did not move to help even as I asked for assistance. They said “idk. We don’t have that.” They had plenty. I came in the next day and ignored her while I continued to look. Low and behold, the product I asked about was there—in spades. Customer service is a tough job, and it doesn’t pay well. However, customers are not responsible for that, and we should be able to expect eye contact, assistance with finding product, and (at a minimum) a polite demeanor. It’s hard to find employees that will provide those traits for less than $20/hr, but it’s necessary to launch a business past mediocrity."
