"I currently in the process of moving. I had some rolled coin took s small amount $11 dollars in to buy gas. The young lady behind the counter said she needed to count it. Ok weird I thought but, I said I would help We began to count it when an older lady came up and began to recount the coins I had already counted. When I said I had counted them already in front of her she stated very snoty that the girl could get fired if it was short. I replied That it was a bit insulting She said she was keeping the girl Getting fired Over her drawer being short. I stated over a nickel? She began to be very snotty with me. This is terrible customer service I would not stop here again. If in any way I can avoid it really a nickel? I am not out to steal a nickel from you. Know one gets fired over a nickel and I was counting the coins in front if her. She embarrassed the girl who was helping me and shooed off a perfectly good customer. Bad Customer Service!"
"Bert (the service writer, not owner) is a really nice guy but he can be a little crusty. The estimates are a great value and the mechanics top notch. Very few non-specialty shops will work on a Saab, but after repairing my alternator (for less than the part costs at Saab shop), the car ran better than it has in years. Raul is a great mechanic with a winning attitude and never sits still. If you watch the way he works under the car, you see that he REALLY inspects the vehicle using his eyes and hands to make sure he catches things that need attention. I will use them for as many repairs that don't require special tools as I can."
"HORRIBLE! On 11/17/15, AAA towed by vehicle to this "certified" location after it would not start. The AAA driver tested my battery, which showed it was good and not a battery issue. After the vehicle was transported, Bert, the owner of the Cylinder Automotive shop (6370 Stearns St, Long Beach, CA 90815-3348) replaced my good battery for no reason. I responded to the shop after he called and said it was repaired and ready for pick-up. When I arrived with 4 of my children, Bert charged me $120 for the unnecessary repairs (which I paid regardless) and then had no idea where my car was. Bert and I searched the property and shop and my car was no where to be found. I later found it myself, parked in an adjacent neighborhood on the public roadway. I was already exhausted and wanted to avoid confrontation, which was why I paid the $120.00 and then I left with my vehicle. We didn't even make it one block before my vehicle stalled in the middle of a busy intersection. I called Bert who initially refused to pick my vehicle up with a tow truck. After I adamantly insisted, he finally agreed. 45 minutes later, the tow truck finally shows up and the driver proceeds to tell me that now he believes the problem with my car is the fuel line. (How did it start as a bad battery -which was never really bad - and now it's the fuel line?) He then has my vehicle towed back to his shop at approximately 9pm. The following day (11/18/15) I called Bert at the shop several times with no answer. Finally, I called AAA and described my experience. The representative was very helpful and was blown away by the way I was treated by Bert. She refunded the $120 I paid for the unnecessarily replaced battery after she confirmed the AAA tow truck driver had already tested it the day before and found that it was good. She also stated that due to the way I was treated and swindled out of $120, they would be stripping Bert and Cylinder Automotive of its AAA approved auto repair title and would remove them from their list of contracted AAA repair locations. I then requested AAA respond back to Cylinder Automotive to pick up my vehicle with another tow and bring it to my residence, which they did. As the tow truck driver arrived at Cylinder Automotive and attempted to get my ignition key, Bert became very confrontational and proceeded to curse and yell at the AAA driver. Bert refused to give him the keys or release my vehicle, telling him it was, "His turf". What does that mean? It is my car and I didn't owe any money for repairs at that point. I then called Bert to ask why he was holding my vehicle and he responded with, "Honey, I don't want to release it". Are you kidding me? Who does he think he is calling honey?? After attempting to demean me over the phone, I let Bert know I was driving over there to meet with the AAA driver and that he had better have my key ready. A few minutes later, I showed up with the driver and had to threaten to call the Long Beach Police Department before he finally gave me the key to my car. All of this was totally necessary. Bert was truly the most unprofessional mechanic I have even dealt with. He charged me for services that were proven to be unnecessary and then treated me like I was some 12 year old girl who he didn't think would know the difference. I highly recommend everyone avoid this establishment and I hope they get shut down. I will be posting this information for all consumers on as many sites and newsletters possible to make sure no one else becomes a victim of Bert and his shop - Cylinder Automotive Services (6370 Stearns St, Long Beach, CA 90815-3348)."
"They have the slowest pumps on the planet. It takes up to 10 minutes to fill a tank. When I complaint to a worker and asked why the pumps were so slow; He responded with a simple answer " I dunno"."
"This place backs up it's work and gets it done. It is hard to find a place to work on your car that you trust , especially as a female. I am happy to say I have found that place. Burt is the best...one of those guys that seems to be getting a thousand things done at once."
