Restaurant Jeanne D'Arc

"Our group of five retired guys had dinner at restaurant Jeanne d’Arc last night. The service was good, the atmosphere for a Tuesday night was lukewarm, meaning that being in the basement of the hotel above I personally found the place a little cold. We brought our own bottle of wine, corkage fee was $25, our waiter brought us bread and butter and set up wine glasses. The food, classic French dishes with a flair, descent and copious . I started with prawn & scallops in a tomatoes & wine sauce well prepared (sans the coquille) they should call it something else than Coquille St Jacques. I followed with Filet mignon, served with scallop potatoes & baby carrots & Haricots vert, the filet was covered in a brown wine sauce with mushrooms, all delicious. Finally for the pièce de resistance I opted for the Grand Marnier soufflé, classic signature dessert from chef Moutal, the original chef. All in all an enjoyable meal with friend, expect the cost to be around 100$ to 120$ per persons, without wine or tips, which for a special occasion is well worth it. Bon appétit!"

"Cute place with character, food can improve. Once you know the entry is inside the hotel, you'll find the place easily. The hotel door was locked at 8pm on a weekday, and someone from the hotel staff answered the bell and directed us to the elevator. Service was impressive, the restaurant was cozy and well dimmed, and decorations well chosen. We were seated promptly (had a reservation) and were a bit rushed to make our food selection. Our server told us the kitchen will be closing soon but they admitted a few other tables after making that point to us. Soup and salad were really good, wine appeasing and bread warm and delicious. The main courses were very average, rabbit was dry (even considering that it is on the dryer side), steak semi ok and salmon average. The wine sauce they used in some of the dishes was very good. We may visit again just for the ambience and give the food one more chance."

"Stylish. The owner of the restaurant and the hotel above it had clearly done a good job creating a country side French atmosphere in this estate. Jeanne D'Arc is a good representation of French country dining. The tasting menu of $50 is really worthy considering the quality of the food.Starting with pumpkin soup radiates the flavor of tomato. The shrimp tartare resonates perfectly with avocado below it.Entrée, Lapin Chasseur, of stewed Rabbit, is a perfection of meat cooking despite the sheer portion of it. In all, quality French dining with big portion is a French rural setting."

"I made a reservation online for Friday night. There's a narrow staircase going down to the restaurant and there's an elevator too. Nicely decorated. They only do pre fix menu and it changes daily. The food comes out pretty quickly. The service is good. I would recommend others to come here and try their food."
