"The adjacent golf course, Del Monte, is the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi River. The course is always in great shape and the folks who work there are terrific. I’m a local who plays there often and have had many occasions to eat at the adjacent Hyatt Hotel. I am not sure what the room rates are but the prices on the menu, especially the drinks, are the same as Pebble Beach and Spanish Bay minus the ocean views!! My wife and I ordered a couple of drinks that ended up costing $35. Do yourself a favor and go to a better restaurant that has more than one waitress like the Hyatt. Three suggestions: Osteria Al Mare, the restaurant at the Hay golf course. (Your admission at the gate to get into the Pebble Beach area can be applied for full credit to your restaurant bill). You should call a day before during normal business hours to the Pebble Beach phone number to get a reservation. However, if you arrive by 5:30, they’ll fit you in. This is no more expensive than the Hyatt with 50 times the ambience. Another sleeper is the restaurant at the Pacific Grove Golf Course. Also, for the best Italian get an advance reservation at Mezza Luna which has food on par with Tuscany."
"Kids menu has a section titled “All day Menu” but when we went for brunch around 10:30am and the kids tried to order from that section, we were told they could not. Later when we talked to a manager (who was very dismissive about the fact that they do not follow through on the menu they provide), we were told it is dinner only. Then why is it not titled as such? On the breakfast section the kids buffet says “Eat as much as you like - but only pay for your age. $12” That’s confusing, but with 2 kids under 12 we figured they would each pay their age. Turns out is is yet another menu lie. The manager said kids under 5 are free and then kids 5 to 12 are $12. So what is printed on the kids menu is worthless. In addition to all that, the food was terrible. As just one example, 4 adults ordered dishes with poached eggs on them and in all 4 cases the eggs were completely over cooked and in some cases hard as rocks and inedible. I do not recommend eating here - from the manager to the servers to the cooks, no one seems to care about customer service. I’ve never given a restaurant a 1 star rating but I suppose there is unfortunately a first time for everything."
"Decent food for a hotel restaurant. Service was OK. I think our server was busy so we didn't see her as often as we wanted. Steak entree came with 2 servings of French fries which was a little strange- diner-like presentation. The vegetarian plate I got was delicious (took my picture after I ate some, sorry) and flavorful. The presentation didn't compare to the steak... It almost looked like the plates came from 2 different kitchens. The decor is beautiful. The bar looked nice but we didn't sit there. Overall, pretty good."
"Really great experience! We came here as a group of 6 for dinner (6:30pm) on a Friday night. From the hostess to checkout, service was prompt and professional. Thank you to Chris our server for the recommendations, every single thing was delicious and beautifully balanced. A nice hidden gem in Monterey and they have live music! Photos in order: Honey Harissa chicken entree, Tilapia special with lentils, salmon entree with Lima beans, bread pudding dessert."
"Food was nice, service a bit slow. This may have been not the usual experience here because it was a Thanksgiving three course dinner menu. Edit from 4 stars down to 3 stars. The next day, the morning buffet had us wait in line for 20 minutes to sign up for a wait list that took another 60 minutes until we finally were sat down at the lobby, and allowed access to the buffet."
