"This is maybe unfair, but this fried chicken sandwich is missing the pickles it came with back when this place was called salumeria. With such a light dusting of peperoncini the sandwich is just too rich. Also didn’t love the dark pattern of 30% tip being leftmost on the checkout, going down to 20% — for tables that you set and bus yourself."
"Pretty good sandwiches, lovely atmosphere, would come again for the fried chicken sandwich and salads. I do wish it was cheaper, i think paying 20 dollars for a sandwich is kinda expensive, even by bay area standards."
"Flour & Water Pasta Shop makes good little sandwiches. We had their salumi (Italian combo) $18 and Philly roast porchetta $19 for lunch. My friend and I swapped 1/2 of our sandwiches so we can have both. The Italian combo sandwich wasn't bad. The bread was a little tough and might have been toasted too long. It could have used more of a variety of meats such as capicola, prosciutto or even salami. Instead this sandwich only had mortadella and ham. They used iceberg lettuce and that was boring. Arugula and Italian meats would have been bomb. The little Philly roast porchetta was also not bad. I liked how there were little pieces of sweet friarelli peppers in there. We also wanted to get the cheese and meat board. It turns out, it is served in to-go containers even though we were eating there. I thought it was a waste of to go containers and decided not to support that type of behavior. Overall, it wasn't a bad lunch. But I left still kind of hungry."
"I give out quite a few five stars, but the Pasta Shop deserves all 5, if not more. We had the Italian, fried chicken, and Cali Club sandwiches and damn they were good, like SUPER good. In fact, I’d go back tomorrow too so I can try the meatball sandwich. Of course, what goes best with sandwiches… beer! The Temescal Pilsner was delicious. The atmosphere of the Pasta Shop is adorable and team working was delightful."
"Ordered ahead of time, picked up and ate on their outdoor tables. Food was delicious and portions were large. We asked them to cut the fried chicken sandwich into 4 pieces! The fries were perfectly cooked and crispy!"
