Reviews of Rotary Shop DNA Garage
"Louie and his team got my dark re GSL-SE with a few upgrades..Highly recommended. Busy shop so it takes a while to get in but well worth it.."
"Don’t bring your car here unless you are a you tuber with lots of followers. You will get lip service and poor quality work. After they worked on my car it broke down and I had to go to another shop and have all the work they did re-done"
"Less than 500 miles after DNA Garage worked on my 93 Mazda RX7 has a huge amount of blow by, the oil smells like gas, it lost ½ the boost it was tuned for, engine temp hits 229F and the ECU limiter kicks in. After a slightly negative review I posted about DNA garage Louie the owner told me to find someone else to help resolve the problems. I trusted DNA garage with my car to primarily have them do a ecu/harness replacement/upgrade and any mechanical work necessary to get to 320hp ie; new fuel injectors, fuel pump, water pump and sensors… I was told 2 weeks to get the parts in and another 2 weeks for the work. Some 3 months later the work was completed. When I finally got the car back it had new dents and scratches. Louie paid the paint shop next door to fix the scratches, but I paid to fix the dents. The scratches are still noticeable. When the car broke down I reached out to Louie because he told me that he would continue to help me with my car even after I moved out of state. Louie did try to help, but did not solve any of the problems. Louie would promise to ship this tomorrow , or call at this time, but failed on the commitments numerous times. While trying to work with Louie to diagnose the engine problems I found poorly connected wires ie; open grounds (cooling fans and pop up lights), the new $1300 harness was spliced into old wires/connectors that had cracked insulation, and numerous loose brackets all of which I fixed. When I brought this to his attention he told me the connectors were probably out of stock at the time, for example. This was not true, they are easy to get. Very poor craftsmanship for a $6000 job. I regret my decision let Louie and DNA Garage modify my RX7 and wish I would have researched other rotary shops. I am now working with a rotary shop in Florida ( I live in Nevada) replacing the turbos, cooling system and all the bad connectors/wiring I am finding in the harness. Update:After talking to Louie he agreed to build a new harness and would ship it 2 weeks. After more than 2 months a replacement harness has not arrived. What DNA finally did send was a generic un-terminated harness to the shop that is rebuilding the engine. So now that shop has to build the harness at my expense. Yet another missed commitment. Also my family moved to an area that’s cold in winter, so I decided to checked the antifreeze, there was zero hot or cold protection when I checked the fluid with a hydrometer. If it looks like water, smells like water, tastes like water, well your guess is a good as mine."
"Need a reliable Rotary mechanic? Who knows, you maybe you're from out of town and don't know where to go? Take your car to DNA Garage, lots of experience on upgrades and best practices in the industry. Once you see cars like yours getting service, you'll be glad you showed up."
"I've been very pleased with all work performed on my Mazda RX-7 at their great facility. An honest, family owned and run business. They also work on non-rotary cars as well. Give them a shot!"
