Reviews
"John the owner is as straightforward and honest as they come. He not only was fair on pricing, but did the job on time. I can’t say anything negative about this shop. He recommended a few items that would be beneficial and wise since the front end was taken apart."
"Reached out to S&H about adding Rockrails to my new Bronco Wildtrak. After a brief wait, they reached out saying they had arrived and we scheduled a time when to drop the Bronco off. The Rockrails turned out great! Now it’s easier to climb in and out of my Wildtrak. Great communication and service, I highly recommend S&H Four Wheel Drive Service Center for all your off-road needs!"
"After calling about every 4x4 shop in town and being told that they only work on Jeeps & Toyotas and were too busy too even book me in for no sooner than 2 months out. S&H 4-Wheel Drive came to the rescue. Not only was John able to get me an awesome deal on New wheels & tires, they were also able to install some aftermarket accessories I brought in. That being a horn upgrade, bullbar w/led, ditch lights, cd player, custom switches and also a 1.5" leveling kit. I will definitely be coming back here again."
"They rebuilt out ‘85cj7 after another facility did some negligent work that was dangerous. Johnny and crew were responsive and really helped us understand why they were recommending many of the choices they did. New rear end, fuel injection, power brakes, vacuum system, and main seal are just a few things they did. It took a while, but was worth it. Jeep runs great. Looking forward to getting it smogged and tagged."
"I would not trust these guys w your Jeep! The place was good back in the day. Don’t go here unless you want substandard work/can’t complete jobs correctly, and your Jeep held hostage months on end (5 months) when you were originally told 3-6 weeks. On our restoration work, there was three major issues they were to fix and several minor issues. Of the 4 major items, they only completed 1 of 4. And of the 1 they completed had to have it redone at another shop. The others they messed up badly, had to go to another shop to have the work redone correctly. Communication is poor. Owner tried to hide out, when you start to ask 1, 2, 3, 4 months past original due date why they can’t get it finished. He actually ducks calls, has his mechanics cover/dodge for him if you try to get a hold of him to get some level of responsibility out of him after your vehicle 2,3,4,5 months past due. In the meantime it’s not like you you can drive the vehicle out of the shop and go elsewhere as your Jeep is taken apart, parts all over their shop! Real reason your Jeep will just sit, their two overworked mechanics (who make many mistakes since they are overworked) will drop everything if they have a fleet account! Which is often. So if you aren’t a customer that has a large number of delivery trucks they service, your repairs will sit week after week, month by month. Steer clear if you are just simply the owner of one single Jeep. You will always go to the back of the line, repeatedly if their fleet accounts come in. Note, there were other customer jeeps sitting in their for months on end besides my own! Another negative they leave your Jeep sitting outside. During a heavy rain the overworked mechanics are often too busy to bring the Jeep inside. Mine left out a few times. If your Jeep didn’t have rust and dust/sun damaged interior when you brought it in, guaranteed it will by the time you get it back. Months later. They added a roll cage too short and new seat bracket system. I’m only 5’8” yet my head sticks out the roof 5” so the bikini top they installed rides on my dang head. Feels like a hundred pound weight driving down the freeway. As the “Jeep experts” seems like they would know proper heights so your forehead doesn’t ride 5” above tour windshield! Again I am only 5’8”. Not like I’m a giant. They were supposed to install a new windshield and glass. However, unlike what they said they would do, ie test all the parts for fit then send out the frame for painting and work, they sent everything out for paint n prep then found the glass and frame didn’t work. They installed a defective windshield frame onto the Jeep that will never fit new glass w/o customization. But it couldn’t be returned to the manufacturer because they had it painted and installed before they realized they screwed up, on my dime! Upon picking up the Jeep w partly installed glass, they told me it was only safe to drive it for a few weeks it will need to be custom cut. When I told them they need to install it correctly, fully so it is safe, they then said, glass is fine it could just fit better. What the heck? The glass place I took it to said it was not safe at all, S&H lied to me, and I was lucky it didn’t shatter on me driving on the freeway. The glass place had to cut an all new windshield. They completely mucked up a new seat install. It is installed 6” too high. They were told to put in a factory style seat bracket or something close not install it so my head rides of the Jeep like Dino the dinosaur riding in the Flintstone car. Just steer clear these guys. It will be your worst nightmare having your vehicle held hostage months on end, yet when you pick it up 5 months later you find you have to have a lot of their work redone! Total bill $7,000 +. Cost of rework at another shop $1,500 or more. Waiting for the final bill at the new shop. Mechanic changed the oil but didn’t tighten the oil drain plug completely. Shop I took it to after said S&H completely inept or negligent."
