"Well let's just say after having to pay for two transmission rebuilds on my dodge ram within a year and a few months from the same place, my exhaust shouldn't fall off as I drive off their property laying on my rear axle. Then I was told by the owner that they never touched that part, and I had to reinstall it myself in their parting lot. Then, a month after the second rebuild, I noticed it was low on fluid. (Only drove it a few times) inspected under the vehicle, noticed that several bolts that attach the transmission housing to the engine had 5 to 6 washers used as spacers, and two pan bolts completely gone. Auburn ammco took care of those issues and said they couldn't find a leak anywhere to cause it to lose fluid. Continued to have fluid issues as of Feb 2024 (now out of warranty because they only offered me a 6 month warranty even tho I paid $3800 for the same rebuild a year earlier and got 18month or xxmiles, which ever comes first scenario) They want me to pay for repairing a leak that I've continued to have since the first month of the rebuild. It now leaks out as fast as I can put it in. Will never take it back to ammco in citrus heights ever again. Extremely dissatisfied customer. If I can give a negative rating I would. RJay"
"I cant say enough great things about Carey and the staff. They did an awesome job on my sons 2004 Silverado. Even if I just call with a question on another car - Carey calls me right back and takes care of me. Would not go anyplace else, highly recommended to all my family and friends. Great work - honest people!"
"I took my Chevy Pickup to Aamco off of Auburn Blvd a few months ago. The first time I took it in I wanted them to check my rear end because it felt like something was slipping or dropping from the rear end. After a couple days they called me and said it was because my engine block was not bolted down so the engine was shifting or moving on take off. I said okay no problem please fix it. That was about $2,500 to do because apparently it took a long time (labor) to get all the parts out to reach the area he needed to. I went and picked up my pickup and the rear end still felt like it was slipping. Now on top of that there was a rattling noise in the front of my pickup. It sounded like a screw was loose and just moving around in my engine. I called Aamco back and said the original problem is still there and now there is rattling in my pickup from where you took my engine apart. Took my pickup back in. He said he heard the rattling and still felt my rear end slipping but "it was not as bad". They again had my pickup for a couple days and called me saying I need new Leaf Springs because they were "rolling". I said okay change them, which also cost about $2,000 more. I went to pick my truck up again; original problem still there with the rear end slipping and rattle noise still there coming from the front. Now he said that my new Leaf Springs were hitting my dual muffler and that was what was rattling was. Took my pickup to change my muffler, $600 later. After a couple days, all original problems were still there. I took it back and they kept it for a few days yet again and this time when Terri or Carry (I forget which) called me back he said he couldn't figure out the rattling noice but the rear end feeling like something is slipping is "better than before". Also, now from a cold start my engine sounded like a huge grinding noise. After this third time taking it in they couldn't figure it out and I went to get my pickup. Now, my wheel bearings were bad and I could barely turn without them making a grinding sound. I refused to take my pickup back there ever again. They only wanted money and did a good job getting it from me. They did not even fix what the original problem was. Just so upsetting that they can't even fix the original problem and only are after money. He just kept calling me back telling me I needed this and that done so he could get more money. Did not even fix the original problem, just made new ones."
"I replaced my transmission with this shop just under 4 years ago and spent $4000. Move forward to today and it has failed and they will not stand behind their workmanship nor even offer a discount. Definitely will never bring my vehicle to this or another Aamco again. Owner I spoke with is polite but unwilling to take care of a customer other than charging full price for a repair/replacement. Reman and rebuilt transmissions should last well into 100k miles and this one failed at just under 50k. Definitely avoid. Update: After their canned response and zero effort to make good on a faulty transmission, not even a discount on labor, I will absolutely be going to their competitors who stand behind their service. This is a company that only cares about themselves. Go elsewhere, or be prepared to have subpar parts replaced on your vehicle. Update: Thanks for an actual reply. Yes the transmission is 24 months out of warranty, I understand this, however this was an AAMCO transmission which your shop reconditioned and failed at exactly 50k miles. I was not ever expecting anything for free, just the shop that reconditioned the transmission and replaced the transmission to actually stand behind their work and be there for a return customer. So after all said and done and very poor customer service I will be be going to your competitor. I cannot voice this enough, stay away."
"I cannot say enough about this place, it's workers, and the owner. Corey is a great owner/person with a high energy and workethic to boot. The shops guys are constantly pumping out quality work and own up to all their work. The front desk is great with communication and fits the shop perfectly. They have gone above and beyond for me and others I see come in. Just an all-round great experience with them and will continue to go here as long as I'm in Sacramento."
