"How is this company still in business. The 2 items I purchased (pants and sweatshirt) lost their shape after one day of wearing them. I did not even wash them yet and they look like rags."
"Very helpful staff and quality clothing!"
"I've been wearing James Perse clothing for more than twenty years, before there were any JP shops. After this one opened in BH in 2007, I used to come in here with my dad to play ping-pong and shop after getting haircuts across the street at GF's and pizza next-door at Mulberry's. Service was prompt and inviting (they made sure to offer us water and exerted that expert balance of not pressuring us to buy anything, but attentive when assistance was needed), and the shop was just a great relaxed space to hang out, so we have been more than happy to patronise JP over the years... Which is why I am dismayed by the experience I had in this particular store today. I came in with my in-laws (visiting from New Zealand), baby and husband, and we were treated poorly. I repeatedly had to find an associate to help me with sizes. Otherwise she kept avoiding me, even when there weren't any other customers (who were, by contrast, very friendly, engaging us and my daughter in conversation). At one point, the SA opened a cupboard, directed me to the shelf with my size and left. After hunting her down again and giving her my card to ring up my purchases, she didn't deal with me again in-person, but left it to her new colleague manning the register to finish things up, which wasn't logistically the easiest thing to do, if only because my daughter has just started walking, so it took us ages to cross the store to collect our purchases (when the associate could have just brought us the bag). She made a point of treating us differently than other customers, offering them--but not my family or I--water (I overheard her say, 'Would you like still or sparkling?' whereas I had to ask for it from her colleague), thanking them for their patronage, and giving them her contact details ('in case they have anything else they'd like to see'). I've given one extra star, because the quality of the clothes really is amazing; JP shirts I bought 25 years ago still look new. But I will unfortunately not return to this location in the foreseeable future. Very disappointed."
"Bisically, Jame perse's quality of cloth is good. So we can wear for a long time. Clothes are very comfort. so I'd like to wear while I am sleeping too."
"It is hard to understand how they stay in business...basic generic clothing, nothing special or inventive, more of the same. The best part of the store is the white sand chill area at the back and their minimalist display window facing the street."
