"The food I ate tasted good good, however the price you pay, you would expect more food. This young gal that started waiting on me started off really well, however, she totally forgot about me once I got my main course. I was left just sitting there, and other workers there noticed me and were very kind to help me. For $33, I was served very little food. Usually when you go to Asian restaurants, the portions are more than you can eat. Most of the time. They're very generous. I've had appetizers that were more food than what I got for a main course and an appetizer combined. I'm very displeased, and like I said before the service that I received was very subpar."
"We had a lovely dinner. The food was delicious. The hibachi steak was so tender it just melted in your mouth & the sushi was yummy. The best part of our night was our server, Donya. She was wonderful, attentive & made us feel special."
"I believe Danielle was our server, and Mario was our cook. Both did an excellent job, Mario was very interactive with us as he prepared our food. Went there around 530pm, and there was no line but quickly filled up as we sat there, and as we were leaving, people everywhere outside waiting to be seated. The food was delicious, I normally don't eat vegetables but today CLEARED my plate!!"
"We had a decent vegetarian experience here at Yamato Japanese Restaurant. We were seated fairly quickly without a reservation once we agreed to not sit in the main "show-room" dining area where the chef's performed the food prep in front of your eyes. It was our first time and we wanted to delve into the menu to see what vegetarian options there were so we sat on the other side of the sushi bar with a sort of view of the festivities in the other room. It was fun, especially when a birthday celebration came along and a parade of masked employees came out to sing and beat the nearby Japanese drum. This happened a few times when we were there and got us thinking how fun this would be to experience with a group for a birthday celebration. There were a good number of things for us vegetarians here including the "Vegeterian Delight" which featured fried tofu "steaks" and various mushroom-centric and green vegetables. Plenty to eat and tasted good though perhaps not the most beautiful plate of food we've had. We also enjoyed the Agedashi Tofu (which was nicely presented and tasted good) and the vegetable tempura (which was a basic offering heavy on the squash and starchy vegetables with only one green included [broccoli]. We would have liked a better balance of the types of vegetables in this to balance out the tempura coating more. We'd come back, especially for a celebration. It's a fun atmosphere and we'd make a reservation in advance so we can sit in the main dining room."
"My wife and I came here with her family to celebrate her mom birthday. This place used to let you call ahead and put your name on the waitlist but now it's first come first serve. I personally think that's a horrible way to do things, they should take reservation or let you put your name down if you're on the way to speed up the process. We waited about an hour to be seated and the workers seem confuse on where to take us. Our chief was Mario and he was awesome. I got the sumo Filet Mignon and I thought it was okay, needed more seasoning but it was cooked perfectly to medium rare. The atmosphere here is okay but just be aware the floor can be slippery or dirty. The plaza that this place is at is very quiet, especially since a lot of stores closed down so if you have to wait to be seated you won't have places to visit to burn time. The parking here won't be an issue because there are a lot of spots to choose from."
