Valvoline Instant Oil Change

"I had my oil changed here on a Friday afternoon right before closing. They did not hurry at all. The people who did the work were very kind to me. They went over all the other things that my car might need and gave me the information for a later time. They did not push any services on me. This was probably the easiest and best experience I have ever had. They treated me with respect and I really appreciated that!"

"I just needed my tires pumped up. They had all bays filled. Very nice guy came to my window and said good morning. I told him what I needed. He put together a couple hoses to be able to fill the tires. He encouraged me to see a tire store quickly. Very professional and concerned."

"I usually get my car serviced at the dealership, but they didn’t have a appointments available so I figured I’d give this place a try for an oil change. I’ve had a horrible experience so far. On 7/22/23 I went in for an oil change and they stripped the oil plug, they told me they were having trouble removing it and took a hood while attempting to remove it before they told me THEY stripped the oil plug while they were attempting to remove it and weren’t able to remove it. They told me to go to a mechanic since they were not capable of removing the plug. I was already running late for something so I didn’t think much of it until the next week, when I went to a mechanic on 7/28/23 and they told me I needed to replace the oil pan. I called this location on 7/28/23, I spoke with the assistant manager who seemed like a great guy and looked up all the information of my visit and said he’d be happy to start a claim for me, then he passed me to his manager of the location which completely blew me off and said it wasn’t their responsibility. I then called the Valvoline IOC claims department which told me a claim had not been filed and they had nothing on record, so they opened a claim for me Claim number#CS0573094. I didn’t hear anything back for 2 days so I called back. They told me the Location manager denied the claim, even though I had already told support that the location manager had already denied everything. I asked to reopen the claim and escalated it to the area manager, which they said they would. I kept calling the claims department every other day or so until today 8/4/23 when I was finally able to speak to the Area manager (Art) which told me he takes the locations manager word that the plug was already stripped on arrival. I told him if he had reviewed the audio and video tapes himself, and he said no. I got tired of having to argue with them that if they stripes the plug, why wouldn’t they take responsibility in fixing it, so I told them it’s pointless to keep arguing the issue if je was stuck on “it’s not our responsibility”. He told me they see plugs stripped all the time and are able to replace them, but apparently not. I even offered to go back and pay for my oil change if they can remove the plug they had already stripped, and Art said no. My one and only experience with this location, was terrible and I would not recommend to anyone. The frontline workers and assistant manager seemed great and were really nice, don’t get me wrong, but my experience with the location manager was terrible. On the claims department side, it seemed like they were just leading me on in hopes that I would stop calling until the last support person I talked was extremely rude and said it was closed and they were not going to reopen it, until I got stern with them to speak with an Area Manager, finally called me a few minutes after the claims support conversation. Art just told me they had no responsibility, which at least let me know I could put this to rest and not bother with Valvoline. I’ll be advising with legal counsel to see if I pursue this further. It might not be worth the headache and just fox the plug myself this weekend. I’ll post pictures of the damage they did to the bolt so you don’t have to take my word for it."
