Thrifty Car Rental - Santa Barbara Municipal Airport

"After booking a reservation, I arrived to the office and wasn’t greeted well. Upon arriving to the office, more like a house, I called out for help and called the number on the window, hoping someone would pick up. After examining the area, we noticed an old man just sitting and watching me and my father call, yell and look for help and said nothing at all. When asked if he worked there, Gino ignored my question and said “no more cars”, even after telling him about my reservation. It seems like unhonored reservations are common at this place and I do not recommend at all. Gino was rude throughout the conversation and didn’t answer any of my questions besides asking for his name. 0/5."

"I had read several really bad, some outlandish, reviews of this place. On a whim, my husband and I decided to see for ourselves and rent from Thrifty. Just for the adventure. Right before landing at SBA, our flight was diverted to LAX due to weather. After we landed, I called Thrifty and told them our situation, still unsure when we would arrive. Jeanette was amazing! She let me know that the office was closed but to just call with updates and she would answer. Eventually we arrived to SBA 2 hours late. We picked up our bags and waited just a couple minutes for Jannette to arrive and take us to the rental office nearby. If we hadn’t been dragging suitcases, it would’ve been an easy walk. The car we rented was clean and in great condition. It ran well. The return was easy and quick. Jannette was on top of it all and very nice. I can’t say enough good things about this experience and will absolutely rent again!"

"The gentleman that runs this location is amazing. My mom had the worst flight experience resulting in loosing her phone and he stayed up extra hours until I was able to get to her. He checked her blood pressure and gave her plenty of water and good conversation to calm her down. Sadly we ended up not renting a vehicle afterall but he was beyond helpful none the less. I highly recommend them over the other big wigs closer to the airport."
